I have a dish 1000 set up but am having trouble locking onto the 129 satellite due to tree interference. I had it last year when it was initially installed but probably lost peaking due to wind and storms in the area. My question is this, can I use an existing dish 500 with a quad lnb to seperate 110/119 from 129. I have read different posts concerning using single and dual lnb's but I am not sure if I will be able to lock on using the quad. any thoughts.:)

:welcome to SatelliteGuys!

Is it a DishPro Quad? You can't use a legacy Quad with the DPP Twin. I don't know if it's been tried, but see http://ekb.dbstalk.com/Adding 61-5 dish.htm#dptwin for how to aim the dish using a DP Twin as at least that part will also apply to the DP Quad.

There's no difference between a Single and a Dual for aiming purposes; both are one LNB.

Single - 1 LNB, 1 output
Dual - 1 LNB, 2 outputs
Twin - 2 LNBs, 2 outputs, internal switch
Quad - 2 LNBs, 4 outputs, internal switch

Yes it is a DishPro Quad lnb. It was originally set up to run four receivers until I upgraded to the HD package and got the Dish 1000 system which now runs throua DP44 switch. I orinally had the 129 at low strength but lost it somehow. I am debating now on trying to get the 61.5 satelitte instead.
