REELZ Channel coming to Dish 9/27?

I have received info that Dish will be launching the new "Reelz Channel" when it hits the air on September 27. This channel is the rebirth of Moviewatch. It will have programming about movies airing on HBO and other channels. It was originally reported to me as a new "movie channel" but it does not show movies. It is what E! (Entertainment Channel --before it changed to E!) used to be. And unlike the Moviewatch Channel it will not be a "movie trailer channel" either.

they will not charge any license fee.

I bet if someone offered a paint drying channel to Dish for free it would be added to At180.

Actually, not having seen the channel (obviously) but having read their info on their site...it might not be that bad. I'm a movie fanatic, and I'd see this as akin to the various sports channels where they talk about sports, have interviews w/ players and coaches, etc. It doesn't have to be vacant celeb gossip...that's not movie talk, that's celeb gossip. Think debates/criticism of new releases, heads-up on home video releases, behind-the-scenes, sit-downs w/ filmmakers, et al.

And it CERTAINLY isn't as much a waste of bandwidth as those horrible home shopping network channels. "Git yer 18-in double-bladed buckknife w/ a custom case fer $199, yee-haw!" or "Ladies, just look at this stunning 18K tennis bracelet w/ gorgeous cultured pearls and a heart-shaped bangle"...No thanks. If I need crap I can find it myself. That's what the internet is for

BTW as to the "waste of space" argument for shopping channels... I sometimes receive e-mails that should be directed to Dish Network. People see the Echostar in the EKB and stop reading before they get to the "not affiliated with Echostar Communications". I always forward the e-mails and tell the sender of their mistake. Anyway, today I received an e-mail complaining about Dish's removal of Shop-At-Home channel.
