Can satellite 5-3GHz splitters be used in place of the 5-1GHz splitters? During my research I have read both yes and no. Will it work OK but it is best to use the 5-1 GHZ when appropriate, etc? Thanks for all that respond.

Sorry but I don't understand your questions. What are you trying to do? If you are trying to split a DISH Network signal you can't except in very limited applications. You use Multiswitches for increasing the number of receivers off a single DISH.

Yes it can the 5-3GHz and 5-1GHz refers to the bandwidth that the splitter can handle so a 5MHz-3GHz can be used in place of a 5MHz-1GHz splitter, but not the other way around.
