Streaming channel

When recording a show on a streaming channel(charge, METV, ect) are they actually recorded by the local DVR? I've recorded a few shows I would like to archive to an EHD, but that is not an option.

They are recorded to the DVR, however it is my understanding that they are not stored with regular Satellite DVR recordings and are stored differently. They can not be archived yet. (and I don't even know if they are working on that.) But me I like recording Svengoolie on MeTV so I would love to see them be allowed to be archived.
