Hello All

At this moment I have the dvr 721 and a dvr 510 on a dish 500. I have no local channels, because I need a 105 superdish. But, local channels is not what my main goal. I like to get a dvr 942 now, for the 27in hdtv in the bedroom and purchase a mpeg4 dvr reciever with a new 50-55in hdtv for the living room in the future. Right now, I would like to add the full HD channels package to my subsciption and that's including voom.

I know I won't be able to get local channels with dish 1000, but I can get voom channels. My question is, can I get all the HD and voom channels with the 105 super dish? I can always get local channels over the air. So I will sacrifice local channel for HD channels. I'm from Baltimore, Maryland. Thanks

You really should have your locals from dish as you need them to have a program guide for your locals over the air. You would have the superdish for locals and then add you could point your existing dish 500 to 61.5 with and combine the 4 satellites you'd be receiving with a DPP44 switch.

Thanks for the reply, but I live in a rental home and I'm barely getting away with having one dish. Two dishes will have the landlord on my back and then I'll have neither. I was already told twice to take the dish down. Also it don't bother me to be without local channel and programming.

Heavie, depending where you live and what DMA you are in the Dish1000 may get your locals off of the 129 along with the Voom channels. The Dish1000 replaced the Superdush 105 in Norfolk Nebraska and Soiux City Iowa areas.

I'm still kind of puzzled. This satelite 129 chart http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/dish129.html shows no Baltimore, Maryland local channel listing like the 105 chart http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/dish105.html. Maybe there is a revision chart for the 129. I'm not doubting your words. I just doing my homework before purchase. I plan on making a purchase as soon as possible, between the superdish 105 and the dish 1000. I know there is someone in the forum who has the voom package.
Can I get voom channels with the 105 superdish? Whatever dish that will allow me to get voom channels is the one I will purchase.

no, you can not get voom off of the Superdish, the Voom channels can either picked up off of 61.5 or off 129. Get a Dish1000 if they work in your area, you still wont have locals for now, but you will get Voom

Baltimore is right on the edge of the 129 footprint. I failed to get a 129 signal from York, PA.
Therefore Baltimore locals are not duplicated on 129 or are planned to be. You're only hope to get them is with a 105 superdish, or hope they get moved to 110 when E10 is up and running.
But 61.5 is probably you're only hope for Voom.
