all of a sudden I have a 20 point plus lower signal on tuner 2 then I do on tuner 1...I hooked the antenna line direct without the separator and the results were the same.

could the f connector on the tuner 2 input cause this problem? the reason I ask is I move this receiver back and fourth from my cottage at least 10 times a year and was wondering if the f connector is getting worn out?

or is this just a sign that the tuner is failing?

ok, now that I have the receiver is back home everything is fine. here at home i have a 1000.2 lnb and at the cottage where the trouble is I have a dpp44 with three dp single lnb's
seems the trouble is with the 44 switch?

Problems of this type are usually caused by bad cabling and/or bad connectors. I would suspect the receiver-side cabling (rather than the lines going to the dish.)

using all three tuners at once
