This gets weirder and weirder. From this and the other thread we've learned:
- It's not isolated to just one provider or channel
- If you record the program, it's not there on playback, meaning it's independent of the video stream somehow

Do these receivers or possibly the TV itself have some kind of function in them that would receive text from somewhere and display it on the screen? Maybe something like an emergency broadcast or advertising platform in the TV that's malfunctioning?

I don't think it's the TV.

Does it show up before (or during) a commercial break?

6 dots allows for 64 possible characters, or 36 Alpha and Numeric characters and 28 commands, or 52 upper- and lower-case Alpha characters, ten Numeric characters, and two commands. I count 16 distinct codes between the 3F blocks at the start and the end.

However, the dot pattern is the same between the two examples posted, which seems to eliminate a message addressed to play different Ads stored on the Local Receiver.

Yesterday, I was in the surgery waiting room at our local hospital. On HGTV, the graphic in question popped up in the top left portion of the screen several times in the two hours I was there. The hospital is on Spectrum cable.
So, it’s not just Dish. Has this same behavior been reported on DirecTV or a different cable provider?

I haven’t not seen anything like this on our 4K Joey or Hopper 3, but then we may not be watching the right channels.

It was reported to be seen on Spectrum as well.

You're kidding, I watched it when it first came out. That's why I thought of it. It was a good series. It's been on MeTV in the early mornings for a long long time.
I was a little boy when this show was on and we watched Lost in Space when I was like 4 or 5. I vividly remember My dad liked Star Trek and bought a $1000 19" color console tv back then, because he wanted to see it in color. He told the salesman if you can have it installed in my home in time for Star trek I'll buy it. They could and my dad used credit to buy it. My parents didn't watch Invaders show back then or they did and I was already in bed by then. :smug
