What we are hearing...

It makes me wonder sometimes that directv puts out false info to see who their leeks are. I think it may be monday, but probably Halloween when additions are made and it may not be tell about 7pm eastern that day that they are made either. In other words, late enough to be news on November 1 and not October 31.

Well, there had been rumors that at some point additions would start coming every other week instead of every week. Perhaps that has now begun. Since my install date is not until Friday, I think I can wait!

However, I do remember seeing some post that they said it would be thursday instead of Wednesday this week when additions would be made. I don't recall if it was in this forum or not.

thats the first I have heard that, but it does make since based on the number of channels left to add due to bandwith and lack of hd channels available at this time.

It was in this post, questioned and then determined that he had mis typed the day....

Maybe NOT :)

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. It does look like that directv seems to respond when other providers start adding hd channels. Which is also probably why they are keeping very tight lipped about what additions will be made and when they will be made.

dont think thats the point he was making, I think he was saying that D* could potentially internally release different data to different people, then based on what info reaches the street you could determine where your leaks are.

I know what he means. what I mean is untill I hear it myself right from D*,or see it on my receiver, I never look for it to happen. I don't know who D* talks to on Satellite guys. But its not to hard to get info from the CEOs Office, and So far they are 3 for 3 with me.

I thought I saw a NY Sports channel in HD this morning?

I was told that the sports stuff might not be on at 6am - so I haven't given up totally. I was told to expect 2 new nationals, I would have thought they would be on this morning.

I am at work, so I can't view what is on or not, and I will be putting out a call in about an hour to see what I can find out.

Maybe they are delayed since they are doing a national rollout of DoD for the HR-20 700 this morning

FWIW,

The following channels are still listed in the directv.com TV listings as of this writing:

290 DIS1HD
292 TDISHD
601 NBAHD
621 MSGHD
624 FSNYHD

No sign of NHLHD.

But then again, probably none of this means anything, but it's promising that they're listed in the guide.

For some reason Ive lost interest. Just take what youve got and give me max resolution and bitrate. This expansion has really highlighted how badly SD and HD sucks on the old satellites.

Wow V> talking about looking on the bright side of things.:p

How about live for the day.
Leave the past behind you.
Alls well that ends well.

Stop being such a bitter old man, or young man, whichever the case may be!:p

So why didn't we get any HD channels today?

They were never scheduled for today, last minute technical issues, they're still coming later in the day, SoCal wildfires...take your pick.

In any event, they're coming, it's just a matter of when, not if.

Heres my question to the impatient people. Is the HD that is left to add really going to add to your experience so much that you cant stand to wait till it just shows up?
