Help With " Moving"

So I see where Louisville SD is coming in on 110. What city should I pick if I want to stay on eastern time zone? I'm just looking to pick up the networks in HD so I can record more than one network show in HD at a time.

Not sure what you are asking. Pick a city in the Eastern time zone.

This is also based on what type of satellite dish installation you have. Do you have 129 or 61.5?

Step by step process for moving.

1. Pick a real city that you can get locals from by spot beam or conus beam.
2. Do a google search for movie theaters in that city.
3. Add an apartment number to that address you found from that google search.
4. Plug into address broker for DISH and see if you qualify.
5. Call DISH and say I moved to new address , here it is and by billing will stay what it already is (real address) and my phone number is staying the same as is.
6. Tell CSr that you want the locals for that new town . She activates them
7. Watch and enjoy your new locals.

**Remember you will need to do a switch check and let the receiver download the guide to get your full guide information or wait for 24 hours and it will update itself.

I thought it would matter which city I picked. So I can pick any city in the eastern time zone and be good. I think I have 129. I'm real new to Dish.

If you have a Dish 1000 then you have 129. Go to your check signal strength page on your receiver's setup menu. Go through each satellite position and see which ones lock. It will tell you which satellites you have.

So make sure you don't pick a market off of 61.5. We can also chop 110 and 119 HD markets off of your list since you are not in the spotbeam. You probably don't have 148 or 118.7 so you can chop those out too.

Narrow it down even more based on your eastern time zone and you have your choice between Nashville and Atlanta.

If you get 129 your only choice for Eastern time zone is Atlanta. If you can configure it so you can pick up 61.5 you have a choice of Philly, Washington, New York, or Boston.

This all sounds like a no brainer. I still get my locals in HD thru my OTA, I still get my guide, I also get the networks in HD thru Dish and I'm still on Eastern time zone. I'll have to make sure I am right about 129 before doing it. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of "moving" to Kansas City, MO.
Looks like the locals there are on a ConUS beam on the 129 so shouldn't be a problem there.

Will I lose my current Dish locals (non-HD) if I move, or will the KC locals just be added to the guide?

I guess Dish doesn't check the address to see where its at if a movie theater address will work? My 722 calling dish from its original billing address also is not a problem?

I understand I'd have to change the address again before a service call.

Thanks.

Yes, you will lose your current SD locals unless the CSR accidently leaves both markets turned on. It happens a lot. I think there is even a thread where you can engineer this to happen by the way you move.

Another thing to note is your SD receivers will probably lose their locals since most of the SD locals are spotbeamed.

The only markets I can think of off hand where the HD and SD locals(4 networks only) are CONUS is:

Chicago
Denver
New York

any info on madison wi hd locals

help getting dish network in Denmark - can anyone help out?
