I still have a TiVO in our bedroom and I much prefer the HR20 that I have in our family room now that I got used to the settings
Compare apples to apples not apples to oranges. Research the best Tivo(Series 3) and put it up against the best Directv has (HR 2* series), then you will understand.
If it means giving up a service and losing most of my HD
I have to question exactly much much HD content we actually see. I mean how much of these so called HD channels were actually filmed in HD? Not as much as it appears.
the inability to get OTA through an mpeg4 receiver
OTA is OTA wether through an MPEG4 or MPEG2 receiver. No compression...and from what I've read, same thing.
so I can get a receiver which I do not see as being much better than I have now
