Is TODAY the day?

So, Friday is here.

Monday brings the Q3 earnings call the return of the real Tech Forum.

We recently sat 8 HD channels uplinked to 61.5 and 129.

Today (or at least this week) was long been rumored the day for new HD.

But signs are not all good either.

Since that uplink, there has scarcely been other CONUS HD related changes.

There has been no announcement.

Even the source on what would be featured in the tech forum indicated they wouldn't be talking about new HD.

So what do you think today will bring? I think it will be interesting to see what the readership is banking on.

December should be interesting.... we might get at least one new channel then. Golf/Vs will separate. Will e* only keep one (most likely golf) or will they maintain both giving us another channel before years end...

I heard there is going to be a new Dish HD exclusive channel. It will be called SOON and should be up by the end of the year.

Reportedly, they are already uplinked as HDPPV channels and just need to be switched to the proper channels and made available.

Charlie is not the one crying wolf.

He did promised more HD with the activation of E11. He also is maintaining his deliberately misleading end of year channel claim.

And he's not doing much to quell expectations, either. I wouldn't be supposed if Dish was the source of a lot of rumors.

Yes. Not only is Comcast (the owner of the channels) separating the 2 at last, but E!, Style, and G4 are launching HD versions Dec. 8th.

I voted for the last one, because I am astounded at how many people can't seem to grasp the meaning of the words "up to". As soon as I saw that claim, I laughed and wondered who would actually take that seriously. But sure enough, all the mouthbreathers are crying "But they promised up to 150!"

That said, who knows. I'm actually optimistic, because they HAVE to do something to catch up, and they really should do it before the holiday consumption season. And I never believe Scott's sources are lying, just wrong on their timelines.

But when has DISH ever done anything that makes sense? (Well...in the past few years anyway.)

One of my favorite phrases is: Save up to 70% or more.

That's a perfect semantically null statement that carries a lot of emotional clout

It says the sale price could be anywhere from 0% to 100% of the retail price. It could even mean that the sale price is actually higher.

for history sake, the may uplink that brought about the big add in may (and the subsequent loss of v*) came at 6:45pm on a friday night and made active the following monday.
