NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Jimbo, don't let those "good ol' boys" get you down. I got your back fellow Buckeye Brother!
Better be ready to take up his slack. If tOSU gets soundly beaten by Texas, you'll hear us "good ol' boys" comin' for ya just like your Yankee ancestors did during "The War of Northern Aggression."
REBEL YELL!!!!

;) :D

Orig. poster never mentioned a particular conference, just BSC games.

No Jimbo I mentioned nothing about BCS games. I pointed out tOSU's record against another BCS Conference(SEC and winless)

I do hope you choose to stick around though. :)

I think we all seem to have a good time with the various and neverending debates about CFB.

I have another one.

I have long felt that great SEC defenses are the product of a conference where half of their teams have bad offense.

Florida's defensive numbers this year look great, but look who they have played- other than Georgia, none of their other opponents had what can be classified as a potent offense.

The Gators will realize that playing Oklahoma is not the same as Tennessee, Kentucky, or Vanderbilt.

But WHO plays defense in the BIG 12??!!:confused:

I tell you what...you pick ANY team in the SEC OTHER THAN the top...say 4....and do the same for the ANY OTHER conference and the SEC is hands down much better.

This is all pure speculation, just like the popularity polls that told us Georgia was the best team in the country, Auburn was great, an over-rated Utah team that barely beat MICHIGAN, (fill in the over-rated team of your choice here), etc.... If we had a playoff system we would know for sure, but we don't, so this what we have left - PURE SPECULATION. At least until the games are played.

Just heard the Heisman finalists announced on SportsCenter.

Not surprised that McCoy, Tebow, and Bradford were announced.

However, I was absolutely APPALLED that Graham Harrell is NOT a finalist.

I know he won't win, but at least INVITE the guy.

It's amazing- ONE lousy game and people avoid him like the plague!

Hitachi,

how is it that Tech's QB wasn't even invited to the Heisman ceremony?

I knew he wouldn't win, but to not invite him is insulting, IMO!

One bad game and the whole world treats him like the plague?!

Honestly it's not right. The reason why is People see Tech as a product of the system. I mean the have had a lot of QB's throwing for all kinds of yards! I mean mediocre QB's do well in that system! Year after year but NONE are in the NFL. Now i know it's supposed to be for the best college football player and all but honestly almost any QB in that offense will do well. All of the Big 12 knows Tech as the gimmick offense. I think they are a really really good team, but what i am telling you is the truth. I told you once i was thinking about playing ball there so i really do know and understand what i am talking about.

Another kick in the groin for Texas Tech and SabresRule.

ya'll do lay it on Jimbo , thick sometimes but one thing i can say for Jimbo is he is a fan of his team......
like i am. of course my team is down this year so i can only enjoy other teams and wait to see if the razorbacks can join the group of teams next year or the next.

another thing i fall into the catagory on is cheering for others in the same conference , mine being the SEC. and usually i say the SEC is the toughest but i know that any given day a team can be beaten......

Yes they do lay it on him and it needs to stop. It is one thing to think your team or even conference is better than another, but to constantly BASH one team is getting a little overboard, so please stop.

Awwww - it ain't bashing if it's TRUE!

I think what Ramy is saying is that all of the constant, "A" conference is better than "B" conference rants are growing tiresome. And with the current non-playoff system in place, most arguments are unfounded.

Time to get back to discussing football, period.

Stating facts about statistics and past accomplishments is not "Bashing"

Saying "OSU is a poo poo team" that would be bashing.. Saying they are 0-9 against a certain conference well, thats just stating a fact.

No one is saying anything about any user on the site, is their a new rule I dont know about that forbids us from talking about a football team?
