Well dint see nick hd today from dish but no big deal have it direct and have yet to see any thing 16.9 HD from it so no loss for me ,...
What i did notice on 3 of my HD installs today was chanel 9 Kcal los angles was in HD over the sat and not just from the OTA Poart.. WTF did that come on dish .. PQ is still better then what they have clamed was HD on direc for some time mabe soon ish will do 28 PBS in hd.

Almost midnight... I can't wait for my 922! It is better than the HD channels that were supposed to be out today...
So uh, lost over 100k subs last year and said something about it being partially because of management miscues which they were looking to correct... Hey charlie, I think this is one of those miscues. Mr Ergen's mouth, let me introduce you to Mr Ergen's foot. (if around 2am EDT the channels go live, I will retract my statement

HD Locals in Columbus, OH were just switched on after midnite!! Wheeee!
Interestingly, we are getting NBC, ABC, FOX, and CW, but not CBS. I guess they haven't worked out a carriage deal with the CBS affiliate WBNS-10TV yet. But, on the up side, I was not expecting to see the CW affiliate WWHO-53 added in HD - so that's a nice little bonus. I'm sure ch. 10 will be along soon...

I'm not a lawyer by any means but I still fail to see how this is not false advertising. I know the contract says they may drop or change channels at any time. However, that's not exactly what he did. He said we would have the channels by this date. So basically advertised we would have them by this date. Since we don't have them I fail to see how that's not false advertising.
What about the guys he tricked into a contract with them thinking these channels would be coming soon?

If they go live at 2AM since they run of eastern time I won't retract my statements as it's no longer April 1st. So what he told us was still a lie. I will be happy to have the channels but I still will think he lied to us all.
Dish Network's April Fools Joke HD
I called Dish Network on Wednesday evening and spoke with one of their techs about where were the new HD channels that were promised on April 1st and he had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I told him that it was announced on the last Charlie Chat. He said he would look into it and call me back. He actually did call me back and told me that he was sorry about the channels not launching today, but that they would launch sometime later this month. He gave me no reason for the delay. I am pissed! I despise the way that Dish Network handles business with the TV networks and it's subscribers. Charlie has many times explained that the reason that they deal so harshly with networks or potential networks, is to save us, the subscriber, money on our monthly bills. Well, if you compare Dish Network's prices to DirecTV's, I don't see much of a difference if any at all (worth mentioning) & DirecTV has quite a few more channels that Dish does not. Dish Network has a history of "playing games" with subscribers. Take the VOOM! fiasco, or how about the defiant Noggin/N split that continues after more than a year? Or the related NICK GAS automated loop. Only Dish Network pulls this kind of crap! Or more recently, the loss of the Smithsonian Channel & the addition of BET Jazz HD. I have yet to see any HD programming on this channel. And where is the Jazz on this channel? The jazz is how Dish Network treats their subscribers. I hope that Dish Network did not intend this as an April Fools joke! It is certainly going to be perceived this way. This stunt is likely the straw the breaks the camel's back. If so, it has been a long time coming.

What I'm feeling is frustrated. I've been checking out this site for a while, especially the uplink center, and this is the first time I've said anything. The reason I'm frustrated is that as soon as Nick HD is available, I'm going to an HD package and save money. Until they light that up, I can't switch. It is a little frustrating...
I already switched for the Turbo HD package (HD Only) and was expecting nick HD before my son comes back this week-end, looks like movies this week-end or we will have to watch something else like Disney. (going to be cruddy outside most of the week-end) Hopefully they come "soon" LOL
Hey look on the bright side, at least we have another thread started about no HD started yesterday...
Lets not be so short sighted. The MAJORITY of E* subs dont feel as YOU do because they have no clue when channels might be launched. So get a grip and go outside and enjoy the lovely spring weather you are prob having.
