WWE moves to LA for RAW

WWE moves Monday Raw to Los Angeles due to Denver Nuggets conflict - ESPN

The WWE came out winning on this one in the most IMPORTANT WAY....FREE main stream media publicity. And the Nuggets ownership look like buffoons and bad business men/women.

yeah! The ONLY losers were BOTH Denver WWE fans and the Nuggets ownership. They must have paid a TON of money to get out of that contract...not to mention the money the local economy would gain.

As a wrestling fan, I think WWE was in the right. Its not just because Im a wrestling fan but because the WWE had a contract first. I mean as of Apr. 15, the WWE had a valid contract and it was ok with Stan Kroneke's (sp) group. Its not the WWE's fault that the arena was overbooked.

I do think that Vince McMahon got some serious free publicity out of this. And honestly as a business man, can you blame him?

To clear some confusion.....and made up stuff....WWE Raw is staged live on Monday's, the NBA and ESPN both knew this. The Nuggets(Pepsi Center) were not in control of setting up the WCF schedule, the NBA and ESPN were and then both layed the issue at the feet of the Nuggets(Pepsi Center) to fix.
This is just more snarky smugness from David Stern, so the WWE gets free pub from this....he still in the end got his way...plus another NBA arena(Staples) gets the cash from the event not the non-NBA facility(Denver Coliseum).

Translation: You all got played.

Didn't make a difference....The Eastern and Western Conference Finals start dates were already set by the NBA, ESPN and TNT.
It also doesn't matter how many games either CF goes, the Finals will start on June 4th(Thursday).

How is it smugness? This is a win-win for everyone. It's been 24 years since the Nuggets last made the WCF. The Pepsi Center would ususally be vacant this time of year so it was not unreasnable to book the arena for a wrestling show. The fact that the Nuggets are still playing is worth far more to the owners than the cost of paying the WWE to go away. Remember there is a Game 3 Saturday as well as a possible Game 6 that the Nuggets owners will profit from. They also profit from increased merchandise sales and other stuff, and they have been profiting from the whole playoff run to date so basically they just gave Vince McMahon the gate receipts from Monday's game and they keep everything else. The upside to the WWE has already been stated. Free publicity to a ridiculuous enterprise. All it cost McMahon was some lawyers fees. Win-win.

The wrestling business thrives on publicity (I am a fan as well, though not as much these days) any publicity is good publicity in wrestling

I agree with MOST of comments....but the real losers here are the wrestling fans IN DENVER. Some paid good money to the show. Yeah, they get their money back, but I don't remember the WWE coming to same city in the same year very often. The ONLY way I would have seen it as a complete WIN-WIN is if they would have moved the show to the Denver Coliseum as CharlesO suggested.
