I hope they are planning to move Denver locals here. That would enable Colorado Springs DMA locals to shift from 129 TP2 Spotbeam 28 to Spotbeam 19 that Denver is currently using on 129 TP4. Spotbeam 28 is really less than optimal for Colorado Springs--and especially for those of us in that DMA northwest of the Springs. Spotbeam 28 is centered in northeast New Mexico.

It is quite possible that they may be adding the local Galavision and Telemundo affiliates in Denver. They already added the Univision affiliate last week. Of course, it is hoped that they would add the two Denver PBS HD feeds. We can only dream, can't we?

If I remember correctly Colorado Springs is sharing some of the spotbeam used for Denver and Cheyenne. By the way, those who live between Denver and Colorado Springs will probably get both cities, under most viewed station status. So, this change could be for that, instead of adding new HD channels.

Digi. Do you know or have a guess how much space is needed for one 3D channel? Will it be the same as an HD channel that is MPEG4?
Not that I think there will be a lot of these channels and I hate that the industry is "side tracked" at the moment.

Same amount of space...actually a little less since the encoder can compress the 3D images together since a lot of the images is alike except for the 3D accent in the frame.
