Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

Dish America & AT120 has very little difference between them. Here is good comparison from dishes site.........Compare Satellite TV Packages - DISH Network

but from a HD perspective it is a little different. You gain with AT120
E! Entertainment Television HD
FOX News Channel HD
FX HD
HLN HD
MTV HD
Nickelodeon HD
Reelz HD
VH1 HD

Those I wouldnt need so DA (for me) would be the best...or maybe silver (for my RSN and the 4 sports channels...MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL)

Does HDFL apply to Latino Dos?

Yes, it does qualify for the HD Free for Life promo. Latino Dos ($44.99/month) and Max ($57.99/month).

HD Dos Channels

A&E
AMC
Animal Planet
Bravo
Cartoon Network (East)
CNN
Comedy Central
Discovery Channel
Food Network
Fox Soccer Channel
FX
Galavision
HDNet
HGTV
HLN (formerly Headline News)
Lifetime
*Local(s) (*if available)
MLB Network
MTV
National Geographic Channel
Nickelodeon (East)
**Regional Sports Network(s) (**if available)
Spike TV
Syfy
TBS
TeleFutura
TLC
TNT
Univision
USA
Weather Channel

HD Max Channels

BBC America
CMT
CNBC
DIY
E! Entertainment Television
ESPN
ESPN 2
Hallmark Channel
History Channel
Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN)
SPEED
Travel Channel
VH1
WGN America

To be honest, I know that HD is usually a main point, but I would also recommend taking a look at the SD and audio channels that are also offered in the Dish Latino packs. I hope that helps.

I agree except where are the other two Dish America packages? :( I want to compare the DA packags to AT250 which is what I have now.

I'm most likely going to AT200 from Latino Max. That will keep BBC America, plus Current, MSNBC, and even FAUX news. Not sure I'm going to keep Platinum (BBMP). The change over will be early next month. I'm glad to know that HDFL stays on the package. Mary said it looked like it would, but she didn't know for sure.

Time goes by so quickly. I received my new bill today and realized all of my discounts for loosing HD absolute have ended. That doubled my new charges. I called retention, Like John told me to do when the discounts were up. They were very nice, but could only come up with $10 a month reduction for 1 year. That raised my bill from $37.16 to $52.12. The new rate was going to be $62.12.
If anyone comes up with better reductions please post them.

Was offered bbmp free for a yr with a 2yr commitment. Yeah....right, sign me up. NOT...

Just noticed in the past week or so that we're now missing a lot of channels between 300 and 400. I still get 362 (HDNet) though. Did the "HD Platinum" stuff drop off ? I know Starz did and am not worried about that for now...

When I look at my bill online, it shows

Dish Platinum - 12 MO 0.00
Jan 25 Starz - 12 MO 0.00

Those ^^ are for the previous month though, I believe.

Under My Programming though, it only shows

America's Top 200
DVR Service
HD 200 Free ($10/Mo)

Under HD Packages, both "HD Add-on" and "Epix" are grayed out. Can I no longer add it back ?

It's now called BB @ Home or something. It's still available, it's just no longer free for us. Once our free deals have expired, Dish has removed those channels from our plans. You can add them for $10/month. Just PM one of the DIRT members here.

The added benefit, is you can now also get disks by mail.

I ended up contacting Dish and was told this. As stated, some genius at Dish equates those random HD channels with BB@Home now with the addition of the one-disc plan. They tried to offer it free for 12 months with a new 24-month contract but I passed. I said "no contract and lower cost" was my goal and was offered 3 months free BB@Home + $5/mo credit for 6 months and I took it.
