DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Since dish is giving out free rokus there seems to be a huge increase in amc fans overnight.
I barely watched AMC so I didn't really lose any programming myself, but it's the principle of the matter. For that reason I didn't ask for any credits, just the free Roku. That was my justification for jumping on the offer.

I was offered the Roku immediately in the chat (we already have HBO & BB@H so they didn't even try dangling those in front of me), told "her" I had one and would rather an account credit, Dish rep came back with $10/month for 12 months, I accepted. Didn't want to get greedy and ask for a Roku or discounted HBO/BB on top of that :)

Wife and I would still rather have AMC, but subscribing to Walking Dead (for both of us) and Mad Men (for her) for a season each is cheaper than the $120 credit, so we're ahead of the game. Almost considering going all-streaming as a result of this but the economics of doing so for ALL our programming isn't quite there yet.

Still a happy Dish customer.

In addition to yesterday's email, I just now received notification of two PPV movie certificates already credited to my account.

With all the roku's being given away it makes me wonder if Dish and roku have some sort of partnership.Pure speculation at this point but,I wouldn't be surprised to see more Dish content available via the roku and,to see Dish selling the roku.I find it hard to believe that Dish just happened to have all these free roku players available in preparation of pulling the AMC suite of channels.

Once again Thanks Scott, satguys, all the members that shared the information making it possible to get these offers and, last but not least Dish!

YEAH LIKE HE SAID!!!!+1

In chat now. Initially offered multisport free for a month. That made me laugh. Then offered a $10 credit. I responded by advising that I knew about the Roku offer and was immediately advised that I needed to be transferred to a specialist. LOL

55 in queue- 34 minutes expected wait time.

I don't particularly want/need a roku. Already have plenty of devices. I wouldn't mind credits on the account to offset the purchase cost of the now missing programming. I would have been happier with Dish if they had just offered real replacement channels, but we'll see what they ultimately offer.

you will wait for longer than 34 minutes but hopefully it will be worth it.
