I guess we will know in 4-5 days if he has to reboot his HR34 or not. :)

Well, you didn't get to see in the swm32 boxes, but you most likely have a dedicated SWM8 for your apartment.
exactly

Have you tried recording 5 things to see if there is no problem using 5 tuners? I would hope they stuck around a bit longer than 5 minutes to check that?
nope. They checked the signals and that was it.
It has worked fine since last Friday and I've recorded 5 things at once with no issues. Tonight we'll know as I had to figure out which 5 things (out of 11 that were at the same time) did I want to record ;)
(a couple shows are replayed so I guess I can get them then)

This is real Directv. We get Choice package free (well included in rent)

Its not even a room. There are these metal boxes on the walls in the underground garage that are locked. There's a bunch of cables that come out of them
Building terminals...At least that's what we called them when we did MDU installs.

well after a few calls we're all setup properly now :)

-last Friday they moved my account to the legit address (my apartment) and got the 771 error issue fixed
-Called yesterday because my D* account still showed my old address (and I still had old locals). Called D* and spoke to retention and they switched the address with no issues. But they said my account didnt have the MDU code on it for programming and that the package needed to be changed to "Choice Digital" (the MDU version of Choice)
-Had to call Access Media 3 and the rep I spoke to put me on hold, called Directv and got the code put on the account. The code basically gives me a credit on the Chose package

Apparently when a customer starts an account its easier for both companies (AM3 and D*)...the whole move thing was goofy. And for the person who asks "why not keep it at the old address and keep those locals?"...well the answer is a $65 credit each month on my bill for the free Choice package in the rent ;)
All I lost was the Sig Viewed CBS
So hopefully its all taken care of. My account number stayed the same (yay!). The only bad thing is my bill cycle ended on the 18th so the bill already has cut so I wont see the changes until next month

Well I think its finally done now

I had called Directv because I looked online and I was no longer on combined billing with the Telco. They said dont worry but this MDU account has to be billed through them. OK no biggie. They assured me that I wont get double billed. Then I asked about the plan or code and they didnt see it

So called Access Media 3 back and the rep said that the previous rep did add it but she will check on it. Well its FINALLY fixed as the plan now shows Choice Digital Bulk 1s instead of Choice and it nice to see a credit for 38.99 for Choice (prorated) and a charge for 0 for Choice digital bulk :)

hmmm this is interesting

so before the changeover I had Choice package + the sports pack on a 1 month free trial. The sports pack ends on the 4th.
The day they changed my package over I noticed a couple channels were grey in the guide and when I selected them I get a 721 message. But some channels in the sports pack I still get. Looks like the non RSN's I lost but all the other RSN's still work. Did a reauth online and same thing.

Channels in sports pack I dont get anymore
602 TVG
606 Outdoor
614 ESPN Classic
620 BeIn
625 USN
the 3 FCS channels (608,626,623)

Yet all the other RSN's work.....hmmm maybe a glitch and that package (MDU package) they just put all the different RSN's in since MDU's are usually acorss the country? I am blacked out on pro sports (except for 668 my local RSN)

I guess I'll have to see if those channels are still there on the 5th.

sweet
All the RSN's are still there (628-699)...the other sports channels in the sports pack are no longer there.
Still have blackouts but its cool to have most of the sports pack without paying for the sports pack :)
(must have to do with the bulk package I am on)

yeah its not a headend. Its a bunch of SWM32's, SWM8's and splitters :)
Each apartment has their own receiver

Im assuming not, but are the receiver models labled xx##i? Example d12i or hr24i ?

Those are the special receivers needed for some mdu setups, although it seems as if yours are just a bunch of cascaded swm switches, how many dishes are on the roof, if i recall correctly 1 ka/ku can support 64 tuners, but that was before swm came out

nope. Directv sends them out and I've seen receivers in the office and they are just D12's

we have 2 dishes on the roof. A slimline 5 and a DirectWorld dish (for 95W). This was all installed last summer according to one of the office people

nope.
I guess I didnt notice it until a couple days ago because there isnt anything on it that I'd watch. I know the pro stuff is blacked out but this always gives me a 721 not subscribed message

They are the only 2 RSN's that are up 24/7 and not in HD all the time (only during pro games)

last night I flipped on 660 & 661 just to see
660 had a replay of the cavs game and got blacked out message
661 had other programming and the 721 message

once the cavs game got over 660 went to 721 message

I live in an apartment now (moved in December from a house I owned for 10 years) but for the 3 years I've had Diretcv I was a "mover" pretty much the whole time. Only moving home (to my legit address ) to upgrade.

Ha, I think since 2003 I've had matching service and physical addresses for about 11 months. Extra locals!

I had Dish twice before I had Directv and once during and was a mover then too

-used the lake house address to get distants + Minneapolis locals. I legally qualified for the distants but CBS. Lost them in 06
-used a Duluth, MN address for college hockey games...they left that station so cancelled then
-used the same Duluth address a 2nd time because they had them in HD and DIrectv didnt (plus when I upgraded to HD on D* they put in a SL3 so I lost 119 which I needed for Duluth SD locals).

Directv
-2 months after I started (Feb 2010) I "moved" to Mankato
-2 months later I moved to Duluth to get those locals
-moved back home in Dec 2010 to get HD
-moved like 3 days later back to Mankato but used different address and got Mpls locals + Mankato as Sig Viewed
-moved back home Feb 2012 for HR34 upgrade
-moved back to Mankato a week later
-now moved to my legit address to get discounted programming :)
