As much as I prefer having an ethernet port,I gotta say the wifi built into the roku2 xd,works great.i haven't encountered any buffering, even on vudu 1080P.The roku is on the other end of the house, pretty far away from the router. We do have fast internet 30/4,and my router is 300Mbps.

The only thing that takes a long time for me on the roku 2 is the loading of the shows/movies I own on Amazon VOD. Perhaps the r3 will be faster....

I would love to have mummybox come back... but with a better organized channel selection. I was disappointed to see it go, but I have both Plex and PlayOn, so I get some good live streams.

The remote still features motion sensing for gaming, while the box itself brings the usual assortment of Ethernet, USB and microSD ports.

Where are people getting that it wont have ethernet?

Since I'm happy with the speed of my XS, and have no need for headphones, I guess there's no reason to move to the 3. In fact, the comparison on the Roku site doesn't even list the XS anymore, so I guess this is a replacement product.

Odd that the XS wouldn't get it. Do they say just not at first, or at all?

I wonder if it has to do with what's under the hood of the xs models? They may have a lesser chip than the XD models.

But aren't they the top model of the second gen sets? Would make no sense for them to have lesser Hardware.

Wow. I missed that. I wonder if it's an attempt to get us to pay to upgrade?

Meh. I can live with the older interface if I must.

Yeah, I just noticed they are not selling the XS anymore on their site. I bet you can still get it on ebay or amazon for awhile though. I wonder what the main difference is between the XD and XS and if its worth getting? It doesn't look like I can get the 3 since I have an older tv.

I know when I got my XS it came with an Angry Birds game that the other Roku's didn't have. Xs has remote and usb port, and ethernet. Xd doesn't have all that. I believe it doesn't have the USB and the pics don't show the remote.

Wow, your right no remote unless you buy it separately. I wonder if I should pick up an XS before they sell out or will they be an obsolete model? btw, I heard an HDMI converter might work with the Roku3 if you have an older tv?
