I was considering becoming a Dish customer again to try the Hopper and Sling (I had Sling with a 922 once, and I miss it) DirecTV's Genie is not in comparison, at any rate, I am very embarrassed with what Dish wishes to even try and present as "Chat Customer Service" they just as well as told me that I needed to stay with DirecTV and not become a Dish customer becuse I asked them "hard" questions. I would like to have at least 2 Hoppers, I am not asking for them for nothing, but I need two, even with the advent of the Super Joey, (I need recording SPACE and have ample HDD capacity). These "people" if you can call them that are TERRIBLE. I would have to seriously think about EVER becoming a Dish customer again the way these chat people are. TERRIBLE. Want to just check your credit at the drop of a hat, I have EXCELLENT credit, I am not bragging to Dish or you, but if I let every Tom, Dick and Harry check it, it will make the score go down. There is no wonder that DirecTV has 20,000,000 subscribers and Dish has 14,000,000. No wonder AT&T wanted Dish even without the spectrum, good luck on them trying to compete. Sorry to rant, it is just I am very aggrieved, I wanted to see about coming back and get treated like and idiot, and even was willing to PAY for it.

you just spoke to the wrong person. happens with every company. I have had excellent luck with the reps on chat.

I had it three times all three we're completely oblivious to anything other than checking your credit and signing you up.

Cost is going to be different for everyone because of credit. Not much info they can give you without a credit check. Like it or not, that is how things work today. You should have started with a dirt team member

If you have a local installing retailer call them, otherwise DIRT is your best bet.

DIRT is the way to go. Anything else from Dish online is a waste of time. Especially if you have more than basic questions.

A screenshot from a chat doesn't make you immune from whatever bad advice they give on that chat. You'll still have to deal with the fallout. Better to get good advice from DIRT and save yourself hassle.

Directv is going to check your credit before they take you as a customer.

it helps to put yourself in the job of the person you are talking to. they follow a computer program, cant skip past parts of this program. if you cant provide them what they need to go to the next page, they cant tell you whats on the next page...

In this (rare) case I agree with the CSR's. At some point you will need to allow a credit check and for them to offer you a regular subscription (as opposed to a pay as you go) I'm guessing they need to know your credit. If DIRT can bypass that, fine, otherwise you may have to take their advice and stay with At&t Direct.

I am sorry for the service that you have received with us recently, trying to get information. We would love to have you back as a customer and we are happy to answer any questions you have here, if you change your mind.
I will also make sure that the agents that you chatted with will receive feedback. We have close ties with the chat org and will ensure an agent gets feedback if we get further details. Please send me a PM with details of your conversations tonight! Thank you!

Please note Becky didn't say no credit check would be required.

It was worth reading until the line I have bolded and underlined. At that point your true colors became very apparent and lost all credibility.

Yes, I should have remembered and came here and asked a DIRT member. I understand how they base everything on a credit check, but I do not like having my credit checked just to get a price, it makes the score go down.

Please note Becky didn't say no credit check would be required.

I can understand them having to check your credit if you are AGREEING to become a customer. They shouldn't however have to run a credit check to give you a PRICE. It would be like going to a car dealer and them having to run your credit before you can agree on a price. I do not have bad credit, it is not an issue for me, my FICO score is about 780. I don't care if they check it if I am agreeing to become a customer, but they shouldn't have to run it to give you a price. Do you people not know that running credit checks just to run them makes your score go down?

You must have not read the post pointing out that your credit score can affect the price you would pay for the service.

That said, if you go online to their site you can get the price you would pay assuming good credit with no problem so you do have to wonder why it is fine to do that at the website, but not on the phone/chat?

But depending on your score and other criteria, they need to know if you qualify for a leased promotion etc. If you want to know price, there is a standard price per package. You may get offered a lower price, depending on whether they can lease you equipment etc.
