Does Dish give viewer information to Nielsen? If not, CNN won't see a drop of 14 million viewers (at least according to ratings, which is all that matters).

Providers do not give any info to Nielsen. It is obtained via diaries and set meters connected to a TV.
I wonder if the Ergen mansion gets trick or treaters.
He turns the TV around to face the window so the poor kids can huddle around outside in the cold and watch CNN.
Finding I am quite content without CNN. In fact, life is better. Listening to less bloviating and 30 minutes of national news is more than enough to keep me informed.

Yeah nelson61, I kinda stay away from the news anymore. Depressing. But I do miss my TRU TV. Some of it was funny as hell, but there also was some dumb stuff on there.
This dispute will be resolved some day, hopefully not at our expense. I can do without CNN.

I realized that I pretty much never turn on any of the news channels unless there's been a big "event" 'cause at least then, they do news (almost non-stop ... for a while).
I'm 90% certain that what I've missed from CNN since they've been gone is basically:
ISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLAISiSEBoLA
And amazingly neither one has gotten me even though I haven't been monitoring them minute by minute with the help of Wolf Blitzer. Hmmm. Is it possible that the totality of two things that CNN is capable of reporting on in any one month is...not a useful measure of "what's going on"?

I just love how Dish is promoting aljazeera America as the place to go on Election Day. And what's even better is the promos are in HD and the channel isn't.

Only channel I really miss is TCM. I watch that channel here and there. But otherwise, I didn't even notice these channels were gone!
I get my main news off Facebook (in the feed) and on SatelliteGuys. I figure if it was big enough news it would get posted to both. Once in a while I will watch the news.
It is the only channel I miss, but I have over 200 movies recorded from TCM, so it is holding me over.
