KRDK (Fgo/GF) SOON

Finally going to LAUNCH.

I'm cautiously optomistic as there's no announcement on https://www.facebook.com/KRDKTV or https://twitter.com/KRDKTV
Hopefully we get their complete channel line-up, which has been on and off since they went on the air. 4.1, 4.3 & 4.4 MIA today. Also bad PAT data noticed. 4.1 was there but some didn't scan it in because of this.

on their facebook page they posted this when someone asked a question

As we have alluded to in recent weeks, we are nearly done with our station upgrades and will have even more for you on Labor Day, if all goes well. We appreciate your patience!

I'm Actually Looking Forward to see what other channels they add
I got with the station on FB and they said yes there is more coming. As for the stations launching they never told me. Some of the posters were pushing for Antenna (most definitely), This, and maybe get. We'll see in the next few months. However the funniest thing is that you had one guy from Florida Bashing KRDK for not putting a 24 hour weather channel when there are on other stations in the market.......All in all I stand for what I say, best station AROUND.....Cant bet 3 diginets from Weigel and Kats and a Cozi....

Honestly I dont see them adding Antenna or This. Here is why (from a technical standpoint)

All the stations they have rihgt now (and Cozi being added) are free to air on a big dish (the old backyard 10-15 foot dish). So once the conract is signed all they have to do is tune the receiver to pick it up.

AntennaTV and ThisTV are scrambled and Tribune requires a little more "hoops" to get their channels including a special receiver to descramble it. That is why when Weigel sold their portion of This to Tribune (so they could start Movies!) once Tribune took it over and scrambled it, affiliates (smaller ones) dropped it and switched (most switched to Movies!)

KRDK is a small station so their resources may be limited. Also the satellite This and Antenna are on (again up on the big dish) are way far away then what Weigel, Cozi and Katz network are located.

they just added 5 new channels this morning and redid the lineup

4-1 Cozi
4-2 BEK Sports (local channel)
4-3 Antenna
4-4 Decades
4-5 Movies!
4-6 Grit
4-7 Escape
4-8 Laff
4-9 H&I
4-10 Buzzr

been watching buzzr for the past couple hours

Bravo, Bravo, outstanding job to KRDK.....

Now waiting for (Gotta get a beer, stressing when I say the ineptness name, but ICEBURG your right he got all 4 of our diginets so I am thankful) lil chuckie to drop the wood and add Decades/Movies/Grit/Get/Escape/Laff/by Middle of Next year.....or middle of 2017.........just waiting for you know who to add their replacement for livewell first (cant afford to buy Meredith/Cant afford a new contract with Direct).....This will be a great lineup for the Fargo/Valley City/Grand Forks DMA.......Hopefully others will follow....

How does a station add and carry so many subnets without the picture looking horrible? Not being rude, I'm just asking a technical question. Thanks, Andy: -)

In many cases, the network will either require the affiliate to purchase a specific receiver (IRD) or supply them with one of the network's choosing, no matter the encryption status of the network's distribution signal. That way the network can ensure the affiliate is fully compliant with local commercial insertion and technical quality policies.

For instance, in order to receive the Cozi signal, NBCUniversal usually requires Cozi affiliates to purchase an Ericsson IRD at a cost of about $2,800. At the other end of the spectrum, if a station wishes to run MeTV, Weigel will supply a fully automated, customized "channel-in-a-box" receiver valued at $25,000.

That is one of the drawback of adding so many stations is that picture quality may suffer on one or more stations. There are a couple stations that run 12 SD stations (yes its true) and folks in those areas say some stations look like blown up youtube videos.
