Sony 75X900e and Dish Hopper3 HDMI/HDCP issue in the last couple of weeks.

Every time the Hopper3 goes into standby mode then comes out I have a picture but no sound, also the Dish 4K channels refuse to play. The ONLY way that I have found to fix the issue is by disconnecting/reconnecting the HDMI cable from the TV which I believe triggers HDCP to renegotiate. After doing the HDMI cable fix everything works normally. Red button reboot on the Hopper3 or a full reboot of the TV does not fix the problem.

Anyone else seeing the problem? Is it my TV or the Hopper3 DVR that is causing the problem (Both on latest firmware).

HDMI chain is Hopper3 --> HTNT5 Soundbar --> 75X900e. This chain has not changed for a couple of months.

Is HDMI CEC enabled on the Hopper3? I have mine turned off. I have HDMI ARC enabled between TV and AVR/Soundbar, so when I turn on/off my TV, it turns on/off the AVR/Soundbar. This is pretty reliable most of the time.

No, I have it connected to HDMI port #1 of the Sony, using a Logitech Smart Hub for remote functions.

Have you tried switching to another HDMI cable? And are you using Premium Certified cables? When I recently bought a 900E and a 940E for the two new Hopper 3s I bought new certified cables and have had no problems with either set.

Haven't tried a different cable yet but the current cable is a Monoprice 18GBS certified cable and this has been working correctly since I got the TV a couple of months ago. Only started after the U518 update but I am struggling as to how that could cause HDCP negotiation problems.

A couple of times last week I would get no picture but sound when 1st turning on the system to watch WC 4K-HDR. I had to reset (red-button) the H3 then G2G. Same set as yers.

On the 4K channel I get the warning banner that my TV isn't compatible until I do the cable trick, then it works fine. Fairly certain that it is some sort of HDMI handshake that is failing.

Love the picture on the 4K world cup station.

Guess I'm lucky they stopped the U518 roll out before they got to me. I stopped wondering how they could screw up something with a new firmware release a long time ago.

Univision Communications Inc. Walks Away from Negotiation Table,

Will Dish Anywhere ever work with Duo?
