I want the 40.0. My tech told me all I had to do is call Dish and ask for them, and they would send them out for free. Alas, Dish won't do that. It looks like they are $20/ea.

Keep calling DISH. Maybe call during the week day time and maybe get a good CSR.I want the 40.0. My tech told me all I had to do is call Dish and ask for them, and they would send them out for free. Alas, Dish won't do that.
BUT there is NO way to turn off just the receiver and leave the TV on since the voice command to power off no longer works.I hate the single power button too but you can turn just the TV on and off by selecting the TV mode from the side mode buttons then the power button.

I pretty much stopped carrying more than one 612 about 3 months ago. Still have that same oneFrom what we're told 722's can only be used as replacements for existing customers. They can't be used for new customers. I haven't even seen a 612 in quite a while so that wouldn't surprise me.
How long since you had it installed??One notification along the bottom of the screen told me I could search by using the magnifying glass button. There is no magnifying glass button! How is that supposed to be done with these perverse voice remotes? Voice search is very hit or miss, and sometimes can't find what I asked for, and cannot seem to tune to channel names such as BBC America. I tried searching for Star Trek, but getting past all the movies and asking for more is a PITA. Lots of button presses finally shows the original series, next generation, enterprise, voyager, and DS9, but I can't select those to set a timer. Plus it usually takes so long I just give up and hit the back button.
Yeah, I hate that on my parents DTV remote.
I use my voice remote to turn off the receiver and it leaves the tv on . You say clearly "Turn Off Receiver " and the receiver turns off. I can even be watching on my Roku stick and tell the DISH remote to turn off receiver and it will do it and never interrupt my tv viewing.Yup, one of the reasons I hate the single power button.
How long since you had it installed?? You can just hit Voice then select to open the search panel.
Yes it’s terrible to be able to press one button instead of having to press two heading out the door for worklol
The voice feature will work better as the next day or 2 goes byLess than a day. Voice then Select before saying anything? I'll have to try that.
But I still want the old layout which I gather works on IR even on older remotes. If my tech hadn't taken mine, I would have tried this already..
Some people don't watch TV before work. And there are many times I want to leave the TV on for something other than the Hopper.
I tried like hell to save you. Guess I failed.
It will take time TheKrell. I am user fluent so to speak for both the 54.0 and 40.0 remote controls. You need to get a few 40.0 remotes to use and then slowly use the 54.0 till you learn everything. Also give your new Hopper 3 system time to fully populate and she will work mucho better. Attached are a couple work sheets I made my damn self when I first got a 54.0 remote. They may be a little out of date but will help you to get thru things till you get a 40.0 remote.Yeah, this new equipment is worse than I had feared. We have so many folks here who claim the H3 is such a great upgrade. It definitely has more capability than my VIP equipment. If only I could find and use that without a bazillion button presses. Hipkat claims the voice response will improve over time, so maybe that's the only way to use this stuff. It's too bad Dish sabotaged the iVOD feature of our VIP receivers. Did you notice they removed my ability to play programs via DishAnywhere from my EHD?
