I enjoyed Michigan losing to App State. Good times.

I also remember the Gators getting beat by 1aa Georgia Southern at home. Georgia Southern never threw a pass in that game.

Kyler Murray wins the Heisman, will either play baseball next year or go to the NFL ... not back to Oklahoma ... he made the most of his starting time at Oklahoma.

Dwayne Haskins, didn't win it, but we all knew he wasn't going to (would have shocked the world had he) ... Haskins may come back to Ohio State or may go to the NFL ...
He has a compelling case to do either.

Tua .... also didn't win it, but was the odd on favorite coming into the season ... I don't know what year Tua is, so I don't know if he's able to go to the NFL.

All three had great years and could have been chosen.

As was mentioned somewhere I was reading .... too bad the Heisman has become a award for a QB going to the Final 4 playoff games .... what happened to everyone being able to win ?
Of course that left many years ago.

Hes already on record saying he’s playing baseball. Contract is already signed in fact.

From what I've heard, he's still debating.
He would like to do both, but he’s definitely going pro in baseball. No question about that.

Trying to figure out if he can do both. If I were him I’d focus on the diamond. He’s too short (most say) for pro football.

To be a QB ... yes ... most NFL people think a 6' guy is SMALL. (he's what, 5'9" )

He would probably make a very good slot recvr with his quickness and ability to make people miss.

Don't blame him. A baseball career can last a lot longer and be more lucrative.

Kyler Murray, A's Agree to $5M Contract; Allowed to Play 1 Year as Oklahoma's QB
Why Kyler Murray is picking baseball over football, and what to expect from the Heisman winner on the diamond
Kyler Murray, A's Agree to $5M Contract; Allowed to Play 1 Year as Oklahoma's QB

There were questions as to whether Kyler Murray, the Oakland Athletics' 2018 first-round selection, would pick baseball or football for his future. The A's are allowing him to play football for one more year.

FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman reported on Wednesday that Murray has agreed to terms with the A's on a deal that will pay him close to $5 million guaranteed as well as permit him to play football this upcoming season for the Oklahoma Sooners.

The question becomes, which is he more likely to rise to play as a pro, baseball or football. Baseball prospects do NOT always make the big leagues, especially when it comes to hitting. Matter of fact, I would guess less than 25% sure fire prospects even make the big leagues for any long term playing. Football, is a little easier to discern. IMO, that is the question he needs to ask himself. Which sport is he more likely to rise to play professionally?

He already has 5 million guaranteed reasons to play baseball, and no guarantee as to where he'd be drafted in the NFL or get paid.

And a baseball career can last a lot longer than a football career, with far less risk of injury.

So, if I read that correctly, the A's drafted him last year ... gave him 5 Million to play baseball and allowed him to play another year of NCAA Football ?

So, how can he be playing College football and be getting paid ?
Isn't that a violation of College ball (legally ) ?

You are allowed to go pro in another sport and still be considered amateur in a different sport. Hence a lot of baseball players go back and play college football or basketball after not getting out of the minors.

Hmmm, didn't know that ...

I thought that you could not be considered a College player if your being paid as a Professional ... anywhere.

Players are allowed to earn income, as long as that income is in no way related to the sport they are playing. Baseball & Football are two completely different things. This is no different than if he was playing Football and earning money for acting or writing books.

10 ways college athletes can get paid and remain eligible for their sport
