Considering switch from Dish to Xfinity - talk me down?

I'm beginning to agree with you. I have an OBI100 with a free Callcentric number, works great. Xfinity 25mps internet, without bundling, costs $62 monthly. The fastest Uverse interest available here is 6mps, without bundling it is $46 monthly. I can notice a difference, although maybe not...

Considering switch from Dish to Xfinity - talk me down?

My box says RNG150N, no manufacturer indicated, but my account says MOTOROLA PR150BNMR. I have my own DVR so did not want to pay the monthly DVR fee and get an X1 or X2.

Considering switch from Dish to Xfinity - talk me down?

Folks, I went ahead and gave Xfinity a try. The internet so far is fine, much faster than Uverse, but that has nothing to do with DISH. As for TV, Xfinity has a few more channels and a better VOD selection, I think. But Lucky hit the nail on the head with his earlier post on this thread: "On...

Considering switch from Dish to Xfinity - talk me down?

@bruce - "I pay $133 a month total, that gets me their HD package with Starz, X1 box and the extra box that links to it, 50 down, 10 up broadband and home phone service." Is that deal available to anyone? Sounds a lot better than what I have been offered. Thanks to all for the responses...

Considering switch from Dish to Xfinity - talk me down?

Hi, I've been with Dish for 6 years, with Uverse for phone and internet (Uverse TV not available here). Thinking about switching to Xfinity triple play. I'm paying $72 monthly for Uverse and $82 for Dish, total $154. I have AT120+, Multi-Sport, and 222k receiver providing HD on one TV and...

No need to wait until Monday, Fox channels already back up and working. I was watching the Charlie Ergen Dish v. Fox spiel on Fox Ohio and suddenly poof, back to sports. Guide still showing "Important news! Press info!"

OFFICIAL DISH / FOX ORDEAL DISCUSSION THREAD

Thanks for the info. I'll probably switch as well when my contract expires, as I need the sports. They seemed insistent that Starz and PPV were the only programming they could offer as compensation. I asked if instead of Starz and the 3 PPV I could get Hub or the Golf Channel and they said...

Best compensation offer from Dish? I was on the phone today with retentions, and the best offer I could get from retentions as compensation for the loss of the Fox channels was 3 free months of Starz and 3 free PPV movies. Told them I would think about it. Has anyone received a better offer?

Agreed in general, but there are cases where a term has been found unconscionable in consumer contracts not involving basic needs and where alternatives were available. E.g., credit card agreements, rental car agreements, cell phone contracts. Depends to some extent on how unfair the term is...
