Difference between the "RC65X" and "RC65" remotes?

What's the 2-way prog feature? Thanks.

    Programming AV1 & AV2

I am using RF to control my HR 24 but am having no luck programming AV1 and AV2 (for DVD and VCR) on my new DirecTV remotes. None of the codes seem to work. However, I was successful in programming these devices when the remote was set to IR. I now suspect that the remote will not support IR...

    Pole Mount Slimline Dish

One more question. What kind of anchor to keep the pole from spinning? Drill a hole near the bottom of the pole and insert a rod of some sort? Thanks, Ben

    Pole Mount Slimline Dish

That's what I thought also. Thanks.

    Pole Mount Slimline Dish

Would you guys let an installer put up a heavy 5 ft long, 2" diameter pole for a slimline dish using only a pole driver? He says he will drive it in the ground about 2 feet. He says he has been doing it this way for years with no problems. This is totally contrary to what I have read here...

    SL3S or SL5S?

I don't want the channels you mentioned. Just looking at the SL5S as free insurance for new or relocated channels in the future on 110 or 119. How likely is that? I think the dealer would order the SL5S if I press him on it. Any downside of that LNB vs. the SL3S? Ben

    SL3S or SL5S?

I just signed up to D and my installation is scheduled this week. It's a SWM installation with 2 DVR and 1 HD receivers. I requested a SL5S LNB for the Slimline dish (thinking that 5 satellites must be better than 3), but the local dealer I'm working with insists that the SL3S will be all I...

    Newbie Installation Help

How would I find out where my hd RSNs are located? SportSouth, Fox Sports South and MASN? If they are only on 61.5, I'm still looking at a EA install. Thanks.

    Newbie Installation Help

So you think I would automatically get an EA install unless I could convince them otherwise? If I did get a WA install and a 1000.2 antenna, would I need a wing dish to see 129W in the event my hd locals were moved there? Thanks.

    Newbie Installation Help

I would be a new sub in the Charlotte market with HD receivers. Along with national HD and SD, I would need the Charlotte locals and my RSN. Due to obstructions, I will be unable to receive from the EA without running a 100 ft+ cable to a pole mount deep in the back yard. I can receive the WA...

    HDMI over Cat6

I need run hdmi about 60 feet from my satellite box to LCD TV in another room. It must run down one wall, above a drop ceiling in the basement, up an existing 3/4" conduit to the attic, and down a second wall to the TV. HDMI cable seems out of the question due to its bulk and tight turns...

    HD Receiver for SDTV

Glad you made the switch from Dish? What Dish receiver did you have, and how does the picture quality compare on HD AND SD? I have never had either one and am trying to pick between D & E. Thanks.

    Composite Out on HD Receivers

I plan to have the HD receiver set for a 16:9 display. Would the resulting vertical stetch on a SD set make for bad viewing? If so, I need to think about adding a SD receiver to my order and paying the $5 month extra. Or would changing the HD receiver display to 4:3 totally address this...

    Composite Out on HD Receivers

I want to hook up an HD receiver to a HDTV using HDMI and then use composite out to mirror on several SDTVs. Will the picture on the SDTVs be full screen or letterbox? Thanks.

    HD Receiver for SDTV

I'll answer my own question. According to LyngSat, Charlotte locals are on 99.2 and 101.0. So, guess I'll need the HD receiver, but thanks for the tip.
