My Fortec doesn't list this specific bird, but when I usals it to the pre-programmed 99 satellite, blind scan comes up empty. I have a clear shot of 93W - 129W+ and the dish tracks perfectly across that range. This is what I'm particularly interested in (info copied from Lyngsat): 3950 H tp 13...

Just sarching old posts for whether or not I should terminate unused DiSEqC switch ports. A couple of them said I shouldn't because voltage is passed passed through the switch, which makes sense to me. This one says I should. So... is it plastic caps? Or terminations? -thanks a bunch.

Thanks for the responses. I currently drag my subscription XM RoadyII to the cabin and forget to bring it with me more than half the time having to listen to more commercials than music. This sounds like a great fix. Now all I have to do is find a cheap 2nd receiver that I can dedicate to this...

OK, so last weekend, I sucessfully installed my FTA equipment and it's working great. Before I bought the setup from Sadoun, I had purchased a 3 LNB oval dish for d*tv thinking I could subscribe at home, and set up a new dish at the cabin... bringing a receiver with me every time I went there...

Yup... that's "The Cabin"... It's actually on an island on an 850 acre lake in NH. The back side has a great arc of the ssw - n horizon. Can't wait to get this set-up going...

I have a cabin in NH with a fantastic ssw-to-w exposure and am extremely interested in setting up a system that will pull in the major networks. Since I'm not at the cabin as much as I would like to be, I don't want to "dish" out a monthly charge for pay satellite (pun intended). From reading...

I can't get cable out at my lake house in Wahington NH, and it doesn't make sense to pay for directv, since I'll only be out there periodically... Local stations are way too far away to get a quality land based signal... sounds like FTA is the way to go. I still have an old (oval) primestar...
