issues with both SAT services

I'm sure if you contact a local retailer they would be happy to sell you equipment. Installations and equipment are usually free though, and i'm pretty sure there's an option to not even be under contract if you pay for the install, so why not just let the installer do his job and then you can...

One Dish Service - Two Contracts

Sounds like you signed a third party contract - if you read the fine print you will probably see somewhere where it states they will charge you if they get a chargeback from dish. The satellite companies charge back retailers when a customer cancels before their contract is up. So to cover...

    Question about retailers

Why don't you just give them a call and ask for a couple references? Retailers usually have their own installers -

    Installer coming on Saturday

The installer doesn't care if you want the dish - it's yours it was bolted to your house and considered your property. He may need the LNB though. Some techs are required to bring the LNBF back as proof, or something to RA back to Dish to show the job is completed. Maybe he has a LNB on his...

    Birdog wont charge

have seen them on E-bay.....but if there's a batteries plus in your town they can make you one usually for cheaper - and quicker.

Paying for Sky Mexico in SF Bay Area

If your FTA receiver can see channels then you are on the right sat - must be between the lnb and the receiver. Don't know much about those receivers, but I would suspect that either you have a setting wrong, or the sky receiver won't talk to your lnb. Those invacom lnbs have multiple ports...

    No Signal, I'm gonna jump!

Hey bro - you're on the right track you just got to fix a few things. Your pole should be perfectly level. That dish needs to pick up 5 satellites and if things aren't plumb you are going to have trouble like you are right now. First you either need to straighten out that pole (and make...

Dish Network: Poor video quality using coax cable. Dish techs at a loss!

or he could just have one of those cheap flat screens - the ones that always look fuzzy on tv2 cause their cheap tv tuners don't jive with the output that tv2 is sending out. seen it many many times before. Try a different tv in that room - not a flat screen just a regular old SD tv everything...

    Eutelsat W2 and Hotbird

Hey we don't get to talk to to many from out of the States - welcome. Figured you were somewhere over seas. Now, you say you can get two other birds around that satellite.....are you using a motorized dish or a stationary one? If you just can't see it on your meter I would say maybe check...

    Eutelsat W2 and Hotbird

yep it's going to depend on where you are. We would need to know your location before we can tell you if you even can get that satellite. Nevermind, now that I read your post if you can see those satellites you should be able to see that one. Are you working with a motorized setup or a...

Dish problems in cold weather locations

There are quite a few items on the market that already do what you are looking for - some get their power from the coax. Just google something like satellite dish ice melter. Hope that helps

    L618 Software Bug Thread

Have a problem with 618 and local channels around here - local channels freeze up and pixelate frequently. It does not seem to happen on any other channels but local ones. Very frustrating

Need advice on wall mounting a new slimline HD dish

If you want this so badly, why do you mount it yourself? I am sure you can find a local retailer around to come and point a dish for you and install the rest of it. Inform them that you would sign a form releasing them from all liability and damage costs to the building you don't own. You...

    722k w/ s.d. only tv's

guys - its a known issue with the receivers - the only fix right now is to switch modes just like what was said. And yes you do have to do it everyday. They say they are aware of it and working on the problem and will fix it "soon" At least that's what the tech memo said
