I just searched for the shooting, and lil tidbits online about it, but appersntly there is a huge story about honey boo boo being cancelled because mama June is dating a sex offender.

Curious about this new buzz word..."millennials". The way it's being used I assume it is young people coming of age as young adults?

big breaking news event that occurred since the dispute started Monday night/Tuesday morning:
Ottawa shooting/terrorist attack
Ebola patients Ashoka Mukpo, Nana Pham and Amber Vinson being declared Ebola-free.
the first US Ebola case diagnosed outside of Dallas, in New York City.
Washington school shooting.
and the newest fence jumper at the white house, who punched the guard dogs.

and also we are now on day 4 of this dispute which i think will last possibly about the same amount of time the Fox dispute lasted, 4 weeks, tops.

What year was the Fox dispute?

DISH has made a slight change - MSNBC is now in HD on channel 200, banner says Turner removed CNN (Not just important info) but the bottom banner does say it is a temporary replacement.

I also noticed Dish made the following changes:
132&385--MGM HD (&SD)
169 & 175-- Nick Jr.
176 & 178-- Nicktoons (Network)
200 & 209-- MSNBC HD
201 & 215--Al Jazeera America
202 & 212-- The Blaze

We lost the Esquire channel? Does any one actually watch this???

I thought it was on 242, or has it been removed as a replacement? I noticed FXM was removed as a replacement with MGM HD in its place. Also, Nick Jr and Nicktoons (Network) are the replacement channels for Boomerang and Cartoon Network instead of Discovery Family (formerly The Hub) and the barker channel.

I believe Esquire Network is on 191 in HD still if you have AT200 and above. It took the place of Style Network but was supposedly going to take the place of G4. From what I read somewhere, it is so low in viewership that Nielsen ratings were not gathered even during its launch.

Can't say I miss CNN on Dish because I can get all the stories on-line (which I pretty much always have). Someone earlier reported they can't get it anymore, but not true for me.

I miss it, I was offer 5 bucks a month off my bill for 3 months by Dish because I complained.. is that the going rate? Seems a little under valued to me...

I'm curious what that age range includes. As far as I know I may be included.
From Wikipedia:
Millennials (also known as the Millennial Generation[1] or Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates when the generation starts and ends. Researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s.

I also heard its the generation that comes into adult hood around year 2000 +.
So that would be born 1982 + since you would graduate high school and be an adult around 2000

Interesting, thanks. Looks like I'm in the gen x group

I am a "millennial" and I have always at least *wanted* to have a subscription to pay TV, even if I have not always been able to afford it. But I don't watch sports, and would prefer to see packages that exclude sports, because I understand that these channels are a major contributor to package costs. DISH is the only provider that is at least attempting to offer some flexibility with packages such as Welcome pack.

Anyway - I have the Welcome pack, and for news I am now seeing MSNBC in HD, as well as The Blaze and Al Jazeera in SD. For kids channels, I lost Boomerang but now get Nicktoons (airs some 90's stuff I watched as a kid) and Nick Jr. And now I get MGM HD. I didn't lose a single news channel in the dispute but now I've got two more + an existing one in HD.

Welcome Pack subscribers are now, in my opinion, significant beneficiaries of the Turner dispute. This may change if TBS goes away but I'm sure they'll add some more channels if that comes to pass.
