Mobile Gaming News/Discussion

I bought it and played the first few levels. The level of polish and the graphics on my iPhone 6 are noticeably better than what I have seen from other mobile games. Then again, I almost never play games on my phone so there could be lots of stuff at this level that I'm just not aware of. The gameplay is obviously very simple but it seems pretty good so far.

Capcom is planning on releasing the first 6 Mega Man Games on iOS and Android. Not sure how a precision platformer series is going to translate on the touch screen interfaces...

So apparently the games have just been released. If you were wondering if you should buy them or not, I've read that the performance of the games is well represented in this trailer below.

And no, there's no external controller support for the time being (at least not for Android)

It appears that Nintendo hasn't given up on Super Mario Run and are planning a major update, which will also coincide with a temporary price drop. $5 for SMR sounds about the right price for me. May finally pick it up. Nice birthday gift to myself.

'Super Mario Run' update breathes life into Nintendo's mobile plans

It was fun for about a week.. Those first few days I had lots of friends playing so there were always daily scores to try to beat. I never got into the kingdom building aspect of it so I fell out of it pretty quickly.

This is available on iOS and Android now. Unlike Super Mario Run where they charged $10 up front this is a free to play game with microtransactions that let you speed up cool down timers.
Yeah I get the feeling that Nintendo will adopt the F2P model with most (if not all) future projects. They've been doing very well with Pokemon and Fire Emblem with their F2P models.

I forgot about Fire Emblem Heroes. I'll give that game a try since it seems much more my style than Animal Crossing. I'll probably check out Animal Crossing too even though I've never played any of the games on console or 3DS. I'm just curious about Nintendo testing the waters with smartphones.

I just noticed that FEH is #1 on the Google Play Store for Top Grossing apps. That's a weird thing to publicize IMO. I mean, who is basing their app download decisions on which one is making the most money? I'd understand top rated or most downloaded, but not "Top in the Ability to Get Money From Users."

It's actually a useful metric. If people are willing to pay more for a game, then it's likely a better game.
