You need to pay attention to the HDMI cable. High Speed HDMI 1.3 cables can support all HDMI 1.4 features, including most 3D formats, but only 1.4 supports the barely-used HDMI Ethernet Channel. DrOrb

Update: Attenuating the signal from the local antenna did the trick; the AM21/HR34 combination added all the appropriate OTA channels. Two TVs connected directly to the antennas had no problem with their scanning results. drOrb

I use a different solution: I modulate component video and digital audio using Linear products and combine these 'house' channels with OTA for whole house distribution.

I think the DTV folks agree with me that the Genie system (HR34 + C31(s)) is work-in-progress. I've hit situations with mine where the response time gets slower and slower with the HR34 and, as a consequence, with the clients. Once in a while I need to do a power down, not just a red button...

Just BTW, when you leave the HR34 or C31 turned on, they usually 'own' tuners. So, if you have three C31s active, even if the associated TVs are off, there are only two tuners available to the HR34 for viewing and/or recording.
