I changed tv's on my VIP722 and I now need to program the remote control to my new tv. How do I do this?

Well after I try my 3rd 722k (that is on its way) and it locks up like I know it will, I will be leaving Dish for either Direct or back to comcast (yuck)!!!

Well, they talked me into one more receiver. When this new one shows up and locks up they have agreed to release me from my contract, which I will be taking them up on. This is absolutely rediculous that this cannot be solved!

It has something to do with the new updates they sent down recently. Ever since my 722 receiver was updated with the new DVR menu look, mine has done exactly what yours is doing. There is some bug in the update apparently.

The 722 is what they brought out when my system was installed last Feb.

isn't this for TV2? If I split this one wouldn't both these tv's watch the same program? I am trying to split TV1 so when my main tv is not on, I can watch something on the tv I'm going to hook up and also let my daughter watch what she wants in her room which is currently connected via coax off...

They are not both HD. Only the current one connect via HDMI cable. the future one is a SD tv.

Can I split the signal for TV1 on my VIP722k to another tv in another room and if so, how do I do it? Currently my 722 is hooked up to my main tv via HDMI and TV2 goes to my bedroom tv. I want to hook up another bedroom tv to share TV1 output but how do I get the signal there?

I'm sure its the updated software and not the hardware so it probably would not matter if you had 10 boxes. As soon as your new box downloads the new software, your screwed! DN needs to get their you know what in order and get the fix sent out ASAP!!!!

I have a VIP722k DVR and a VIP222. If I add a 3rd tv to either of these receivers what remote do I need to buy? I really do not like the 20 or 21 remote(s) that came with the receivers as they are not very comfortable to use. Are there certain remotes that only work with the 722/222? -Scott

Well since my update happened a few days ago, my receiver has locked up several times requiring the dreaded 5 minute reboot! Last night it locked up, as in screen froze while watching the news, I rebooted the receiver and all is fine... for about 15 minutes, then lockup again! I've also noticed...

Thanks for all the info. I am looking at a Harmony 688 on Ebay for $31.00 brand new. Is this the best buy for Harmony remotes or is there a better model you guys prefer that is UNDER $50?

I noticed the 688 runs on 4 AAA batteries and the newer ones like the 880 run on rechargables and have a charging station. I wonder how the 688 does on battery life using AAA batteries?
