    Dish network, Dish network.

You would think that they would give him the benefit of the doubt, send him a remote, and verify him sending it when they receive his old box. And by the way- I thought all new receivers and reman receivers came with remotes? ************ BETTER TV FOR ALL ************

    Retailer Chat Recap - November 10th, 2005

WOW! That would be interesting INDEED. I wonder what bandwidth would be needed to transmit a program from a dish receiver through CAT5. Would 100mb be enough? Or maybe Gigabit? You could cram like 4 tuners in one box and there 's your 4-TV install! 3 UHF Antennas on the back! Dish would like...

Help! Service turned off because of lack of phone connection!

The 942 has the new 'COM PLUS' hardware in it, though I don't know if it's active yet. All new receiver models will employ this technology. Thier goal is to make it easier for the customers, which I fully admire. Using this technology, only one receiver needs to be plugged in to a phone line...

Help! Service turned off because of lack of phone connection!

Yeah? Well maybe if Dish Cust. Service wouldn't OFFER the customers this Movers option, we wouldn't have this problem. My customers have flat out TOLD me that when they call Cust. Svc for a 2nd dish in their vacation home, the rep offered the movers program to cover it. Believe me, it's...

    One Cable Two Receivers

Yeah, our sales partners out how here have figured that one out... they are really getting good at their wording over the phone to would be customers.... things like "HD DVR"... when said the right way is all the customer needs to hear, AND, when said the right way, the sales partner is free...

    One Cable Two Receivers

You can definitely do that, provided that your current dish config is giving you all the programming you need from all the orbital locations required. If that's in place, then yes. I use diplexers to distribute my 510's all through the house. Yeah I know, a dual tuner that costs $10 more a...

    One Cable Two Receivers

Diplexers are for combining a satellite input signal with an RF-out signal. One diplexer at one end of the line combines the two, the 2nd at the other end separates them. In all honesty, you really need to find a way to get a second line into the house. Dish sat lines just cannot be split...

Share your Dish Network Wiring diagrams!

The timing of this thread was too coincidental to pass up! Just two weeks ago I spent the entire weekend rewiring my house. By doing so I was able to drop a 301 off my acct to save $5/mo. But the REAL reason is that since I have 2 510's, the wife and I are getting frustrated with the separation...

Having to cancel Dish, I'm not happy

200 ft is a very long cable run. Think about it this way. A football field is 100 yards. 3 ft make a yard. That guy is trying to tell you that each line run is more than 2/3 that of a FOOTBALL FIELD? I get ticked off just sitting here reading about this. If you are an installer, your job is to...

    multi-room new install...need help/advice

If you need a third orbital location (61.5, 129, or 148 only, not 105 or 121) for the requested programming, you could have 2 dishes, with the line from the 3rd sat signal feeding into the 3rd port of a DPP Twin, but with this config, you can only run two single tuners, or two dual tuners. And...

    942 remote question

Actuall, your answer is NO, and YES :) First the NO: You cannot use the TV Power Button for anything BUT a TV. However, you CAN use the large power button to turn on/off your stereo receiver while in AUX mode, provided your A/V Receiver is programmed to the DISH remote. And YES: When...

    Please help me

You have to treat the 625's like newborns... I dropped on about 2 feet, still on the box, on the way up the driveway... the thing fizzled out, kept rebooting! It's the only one I've ever had a problem with, and coincidentally, the only one I've dropped!

    Please help me

Patchen- Please tell us what your cable configuration is from the receiver to the wall plate... the main cables we are concerned with are 1) SAT 1 Input, 2) SAT 2 Input, and 3) TV2 OUT. - Do you have a DUAL wall plate for both SAT IN cables, or one SINGLE wall plate - Does your TV 2 OUT...

    New multi-room setup

Sometimes I will combine both backfeeds with a splitter, and the TV2 Out's on different channels. A lot of times I do this because the customer can't make up his/her mind which TV they want DVR, and which one they want to sacrifice. Works pretty good!

    New multi-room setup

Hi Mike, and Welcome! To answer a few of your questions: The 942 and 625 receivers use identical technology: They are both dual tuners, whereas you only need 1 box to view independent programming in up to 2 separate locations. So to answer your question, yes, you can just swap the...

I am about to sign up for DN again but...

Oh and by the way, your programming that you order will decide whether or not you will need a 1000 dish. Rumor has it that all HD will be moving to 129, along with all CONUS locals that are currently on 148 or 61.5 wing satellites, to meet the 'one dish' FCC requirements. If this is the case, a...

I am about to sign up for DN again but...

I second that motion: Have your spouse or roommate sign up if you don't live alone. You don't want to sign up under your name, only for Dish to decide that you are a previous customer... they will then have your new address, and you may never qualify for NEW status again until/unless you move...

Just out of curiosity- what exactly is Qwest doing with TV in your area? I know Verizon is laying fiber, but for them to broadcast TV over that network is months, if not years away.

    Help on dish/switch set-up needed

.... AND... I forgot.... I don't have access to info on what SAT your locals are on, so be prepared for a 3rd dish pointing at 148, or a SuperDish. If your locals are on the 121 SAT you will DEFINITELY need a DP 4:4 switch if you want and can get 61.5 for Voom... confused yet? :D
