If we have to go to "interactive tv" then I'll probably go back to OTA TV. Won't get many of the shows that I enjoy watching - won't get CNN, etc. But I didn't get those for the first 40 or so years of my TV viewing either. I'll leave the interactive stuff to the youngsters.

Just got the same letter today. The savings that the annual payment allowed has been shrinking the last few years but it did let me postpone several of the price hikes for a few months each year. At least I won't see the latest price hike until January.

The Shurz station in Wichita, KS (KWCH) opened its 10 PM newscast with a brief statement that an agreement has been reached and the station will remain on DISH.

Just got notice from the Schurz affiliate in Wichita that I will lose my access to their signal. Fortunately (and I let them know this) I do have OTA access to their affiliate station in my town. Also sent them an email suggesting that anyone with a VCR has had the ability to skip commercials...

Looks like the dispute with Shurz is also going to affect the CBS affiliate in the Wichita-Hutchinson (KS) DMA. Haven't watched the CW affiliate recently but it's probably afffected too.

As far as I'm concerned, DISH can leave the commercials in. I've found they make great "potty breaks". :D

Why????? If you want to change providers every time your commitment runs out, then don't be the first to complain when prices go up to cover the expenses of subscribers who constantly try to beat the system.

Absolutely worth the watch! The man, and his company take a lot of heat from a lot of people. But you cannot fault what he's done. I wish there were a few more like him out there - we'd all be better off.

You always have. TV stations have always had to pay for the programming and production of programs and commercials. Those costs will get passed to the advertisers and the advertiser will pass those costs to you by building it into the price they charge for the goods and services they offer.
