    RV Setup

Awesome help guys, thanks so much. Ok, I get a Dish 1000.2 dish and I am good to go. I won't need switches are anything to go along with it? Also, I will be pretty much in the same local area as I am now, so I think I can keep the locals. I am really just trading a 1 bedroom upstairs apartment...

    RV Setup

Thanks for the tips folks, Brussam, thanks for the links, pretty amazing rig you have there. I have a 622, and there are two dishes outside. They are pointed in different directions. I can take all that down and get a couple of tripods, but is there anyway to use just one dish?

    RV Setup

Hi everyone, I'm looking to be living in a RV full time starting this fall. I am a DISH HD guy with no more commitment. I have a 622 which is a POS in my opinion, but was wondering how I would go about setting up in the RV. Would I need a different type of account? I've read something about RV...

    Failure of replacement 622 DVRs.

My 622 has been a POS since the day it was installed. I would be ashamed to put my name on a product like this. Come May I am out of this contract and will be running MythTV. That will be an extra $65 in my pocket every month. torp

    TWC ~vs~ DISH

I am a HD customer. I called TWC, and they estimate my monthly payment at $101 vice the $127 I am paying now. The channel lineup is close, but DISH has more HD channels (A bunch of them are BS though). I'm thinking saving $26 a month in this economy is not a bad thing. Customer sevrice from both...

    TWC ~vs~ DISH

I am a somewhat unhappy DISH customer, and I got an add from TWC in the mail yesterday offering my "Surf 'N View" at $76.99. Currently I have TWC for my RR service, and DISH getting the top 200 package with DVR which all together goes for $127.89. So on the surface it looks like I can save $50...

    HDMI cheap cables

The truth is that this is just low hanging fruit for the salespeople. They have us by the nads. We got the new HDTV or Blu-Ray, we need cables, and we need them right now by god! So, what do you have Mr. Salesperso, oh, you have the $59.99 Monster 6-footer. Is that what I need to get my system...

    IDE Format problem

It appears that you just can't get there from here using the USB bus. I have tried everything from Dataguard to Boot&Nuke, but just can't erase the MBR with the drive connected over the USB bus. I am going to have to find a way to hook this IDE drive up to my SATA connection, and go from there...

    IDE Format problem

I have an old WD 160GB IDE drive that I want to use as an external. I used this drive on an older system bios that had a 32GB limitation, so I used a WD program to see all 160GB. I recently bought an external case for the drive, and have hooked it up, and all I can see is 32GB on the drive. I...

    622 glitch

So this is a software issue? is there a fix available? The system is updating at 2 a.m. every day, but still have the same problem.

    622 glitch

My one year old 622 is on the blink. After about 20 minutes one of the tuners video goes out, and I have to hit (swap) to get to the other tuner so I can watch TV. All is good for the 1st 20 minutes or so. I thought at first that the box was over heating. It is setting alone on a shelf, and I...

    WOAI HD San Antonio

Well I have "moved" from Laredo to San Antonio. So OTA is not an option for me. What happens in Feb '09 when there is no analog signal?
  15. torp74

    WOAI HD San Antonio

Yeah. NBC does look like sh&t. My understanding is that WOAI and DISH have some issues. I just changed to KENS 5. It would be nice to see the Sunday night games in HD though. torp

    Compatible Remote?

I am looking for a good DISH compatible remote that can perform macros, and etc. The Best Buy guy told me the harmony series was the way to go, but those guys rarely seem to be right. Does anyone have experience in this? I want to control the 622, Samsung Blu-Ray Player, DVD Recorder/VHS combo...

Those stations probably don't have agreements with DISH. My NBC affiliate here is the same way. Now I get to watch Sunday Night Football in crappy SD. Baztards.... torp

    Upgrading Dad to HD

I have to update you all on this project. Everything pretty much went off without a hitch. We got the stand (gigantic), got the tv (holy crap!), got the A/V receiver, and had direcTV do a new install. Everything came together well with one exception. My Dad and step-mom were overwhelmed with...

What Movie Or Scene is used to show off your setup?

That beach scene does it for me. That are the opening battle scene of "Gladiator". Both have kick ass surround sound which just set off those visuals. torp

    Upgrading Dad to HD

Well it looks like all is on schedule, and the tv might even show up early. Jimbo, thanks for the schedule, we will enjoy whatever is on. My pop is a big westerns guy, so we might watch 3:10 to Yuma on DVD in a pinch instead of the ball game. He will piss and moan a little about how much I paid...

So folks....Vista does not SUCK. Mickysoft, Hollywood & DRM

Amen. Rightly so in my opinion. Truth is MS has shot there self in the foot a million times in the last 20 years. They don't deserve the market share they have now. torp

    Upgrading Dad to HD

Well DTV was very helpful. My Dad was due for a free HD upgrade, and so the whole deal is only costing $19.95 upfront, and then $9.95 a month for the next 24. The extra $10 a month and the 24 are no big deal for them because they spend 85% of their time watching the tube, both retired, etc.. So...
