Yet another Briz-M failure. What is atypical is that it was a lower stage failure, and not the typical upper stage failure that the Briz-M is known for.
You have a misunderstanding about the law. Dish must attempt to carry all full power stations in a DMA. If the station elects Must Carry then it is the responsibility of the station to provide an acceptable signal to the POP. If a station elects re-transmission consent then Dish must act in good...
For all we know DirecTV could still be offering the Fox channels on a contract that was signed when News Corp. still had controlling interest in DirecTV. (BTW for those uneducated News Corp. is the parent company of FOX) If that is the case for all we know Fox could be giving away the channels...
You could run your Dishnetwork receiver internet traffic through a US based proxy. Then your receiver would appear to be in the US. I assume you want to take your receivers to Mexico on an extended vacation?
Well remember most birds have a 12 - 15 year expected useful life.
E3 was launched in 1997.
So E3 is 13 years old -+ a few months.
At least E3 didn't have all the issues E4 had (cue Sanford and Son theme)
Echo 8 does have spotbeams. The spotbeams might not be useful at 77w, but TPs 2,4,6,8, and 10 on E8 are spotbeam TPS.
The configuration of E8 is very similar to E7. 5 spotbeam TPs, the rest conus.
It is always a good idea when buying off of ebay to get the R00 number from the back of the receiver, and call dish to verify that it isn't a leased box, and that there isn't a balance owed on the box.
I have not had a bad experience with the Dish Audit Nazis, but my mom has.
About 2 years ago she got a call from the audit Nazis wanting receiver information. She explained that she just had knee surgery, and they would have to call back in the evening when my dad was home. They disconnected...
The future Direct Tivo box is not to avoid litigation.
DirecTv bought ReplayTV, which besides having it's own patents has a cross licensing agreement with Tivo. So Tivo couldn't sue DirecTv even if they wanted to.
He still got his way.
While Dish was unable to sell distant networks, Dish was able to lease a TP to AAD to sell distant networks.
The arrangement with AAD actually made it possible for people who could not legally sub to distant networks through Dish could legally get distant networks on...
Why would D* sign an exclusive agreement with Tivo.
D* bought ReplayTV, owns the ReplayTV patents, and the cross-licensing between Tivo and ReplayTV.
Tivo would never sign an exclusive contract. Doing so would limit the number of houses they can be in. And that would not make financial...
Flex pay.
pre-pay, but it is done monthly.
I liked having the dish now box for the cabin. I could use a $30.00 card and have TV at the cabin when I was there. Paying for 3-4 days at a time.
Now with Dish now being dead IF I stay with Dish because of the crappy DVR double dipping I'll...
Gosh is Spectrum Five current with their filings?
Maybe I am wrong, but IF I remember correctly Spectrum Five is behind on their filings, and will in all likely hood not make their milestone for a timely launch.
Unfortunately Robert Ward is in Florida, which has very liberal laws concerning bankruptcy, and the collection of judgments.
They are so liberal that after OJ was found not guilty he moved there to protect much of his assets, including his house, and pension money.
Dishnetwork will not see...
I would not consider E7 a technical marvel at its time. DirecTV Spotbeam birds launched around the same time had more spots and were IMHO more advanced than E7 and E8.
