What do I get if I hook up my 722k with an ethernet cable?

I searched and didn't see a good all inclusive answer.

Is this even worth the the trouble?

DOwnload VOD is good, and you can go online and add things to be recorded to ur 722k when ur away from home. You need to set it up through dishonline.

Pretty much you get three things:
Downloadable VOD - whoopee
Box no longer has to be connected to phone line to avoid $5 fee
The ability to remotely program recordings

To my mind, it's worth it for the remote access.

E-mail ? I think you initiate the setup through the receiver, as I recall.

Menu, 6, 1, 8, 3

Ok,

I finally replaced my router (all the ethernet ports were dead) and did the 6,1,8,3 activation.

Is there anyway to confiirm it's activated? Like is there a menu screen that lists my receiver as "active" or something?

as of feb1st you no longer save the 5 buck fee:( it should load a buch of mostly pay shows.

honestly most were charge and PQ wasnt impressive......

i see the begining of this was a old thread

I have had my receivers hooked up wireless hoping the VOD feature would improve. The search feature is a mess and the price is too high. Every once in a while I go in and check it out.

Last thing i downloaded was Caprica.

Dish Now replacement?
