A heads up on a new promotion..

I just called and asked the CSR if there were any promotions on HBO at this time.
She said they just started an unadvertised promo from there "best customers"
They are offering any Movie Channel for $10.00 off for six months.
So I took HBO for $3.00 a month for six months... just wanted to pass this along

yeah i called 2 months ago and got that and i had a billing issue so they just started it again for me this month... not really super special i think anybody can call in and be nice and ask is there special because you were thinking of getting hbo?

About 3-4 months ago I called in for something, don't remember what, they offered me Showtime or Starz, told them I really have no use for them as I don't generally watch movies,(other than the occasinal DVD rental, they are current as the movie channels are not).
I asked about HBO and Cinemax, asI consider them to be better ....
They said that HBO harly ever goes out as a Promo offering and that if I would like Starz and or Shotime they would turn them on for me to try.

So HBO/ Cinemax are NOT always a easy catch, if you can get it and like it, go for it.

One reason might be cause they show soft porn?.Other than that don't see any reason for 3 feeds or even 5 feeds like DISH has.I have always considered the packages with the most channels the better value.But then some like the series they provide.

The HBO / Cinemax combo is the only one I have not had to this point, just wanted to give it a try.
When they do the Showtime promo you also get The Movie channel, Starz has like 8-10 channels that I found not much on, just thought I'd like to try HBO/ Cinemax for a few months....
I think it's rediculous that the want to charge $ 12 for what is it , 3 Cinemax channels , you would think that they would throw the Cinemax in with the HBO.

I'm not much for the movie channels but saw an oppertunity to have them for a little while to at least check them out.

There's no point to Cinemax on DirecTV, currently. Echoing what others have said, it's $12/month for essentially two channels. (I don't consider west coast feeds another channel, especially since DVRs are available these days.) I'll agree that the only logical reason why anybody with DirecTV would order it is because they're too embarrassed too order a real porn channel.

Now, if DirecTV adds the rest of the multiplex (ActionMax, ThrillerMax, 5 Star Max, W Max, Outer Max, and @ Max) or Cinemax HD I might be persuaded to just go ahead and subscribe to Premiere + HD.
