hopper or 922 same looking remote and error msg looks like what i see about every other night with mine. still no free porn but i would be flipping out if my kids saw that.

The thing that gets me is the station that reported the story. FOX!!! We all know how much FOX likes Dish.

Anyways by the looks of it, she has got a nice case against Dish in court on this.

If I where her, I would unplug the DVR from the satellite feed to help preserve the evidence.

im sure that hopper has been hit with the format bug by now but the news footage will be her evidence, and it will also aid dish with its counter that she was watching programing she was not paying for in her contract and she will be in court limbo till the house is gone and they are all living under the freeway with an OTA converter box hooked up to the street lamp.

Im sure it could be worked out with some free PPV coupons or Showtime half off for 6 months.

EA transponder 12428 @ 72 satellite is home to both ch 172 and 493 but on different V pids 5922 & 4162, with Hopper if you block the signal at your dish or disconnect the cable to mimic a signal loss event you may find your receiver acts in a similar way. Since I have neither hopper or EA I couldn't test the theory.

They must also have porn in there programing as it would not decode unless it was wide open when the signal was lost. Sure others wont find free porn with this method.

The way I look at it, maybe this story will light a fire under E*'s ass and get them fixing bugs quicker . Perhaps S222 was a "porn fix" release?

I think it was some sort of Hopper bug. As much as I love Hopper it certainly isn't free of all bugs... Maybe Dad was watching porn at that time or something and the Hopper was recording the wrong tuner for some reason.

What I saw was 2 info pop ups for 2 diff channels. I'm thinking a UHF remote at a neighbors that tuned it. E* isn't the one at fault here, so how can they give an explanation for what they didn't do? If the parents had any sense what so ever at all they would have put in parental controls. Started to post this on that site but didn't want to sign up w/ the nimrod station to do it. I can't believe the dish dealer didn't check on it to find out about other customer remotes in the area. I think it was easier for him to say oh it was a dish issue followed by DUH.

Where did you see that? It was a popup that said "Part of recorded event has been lost due to signal loss". (They even read it to you in the news report). I see that sometimes on my recordings.

AND.............

It would not have continued recording continuously if the channels were changed by a remote.

Pairing hopper remote would not let others change channel and keep recording like it did.

Yes dish skrewed up on this but its pure 1 in a million thing not even that many have hopper. Id say mabe 20-40k out of 14mil subs.

I remember hearing in the super bowl when the cardinals larry fitzgerald scored the touchdown with little to no time left before the steelers came back to win...on that play w fitz...the ball was thrown and then all of arizona got switched to porn and never saw fitz score...it was on for a min or so...haha

This reminds me of the good old days with cable TV where you could park your converter box one channel up from a scrambled channel and then change the tv channel one down. Sure the video faded in and out ever few mins but for about 30 seconds you got perfectly clear video.

I don't see anyone blaming Dish for turning on porn in the middle of the movie. It was obviously some kind of technical glitch.
