I THINK the two white boxes just might have been downconverters. they were used back in the day before LNB's.
EDIT: Looking at it again..they just MAY be limit switches! Interesting. Never seen it done that way before.
That dish is in bad shape. well, not the dish so much but the pole is gone. To add to it, that pole you see is a sleeve, so you HAVE to have it to use the dish. Which means in this case you will have to make another one, cut the cap off of the pole you have, and weld it on the new square tube.
Another thing against it is that its a buttonhook feed, which over time usually sags, not so bad for c-band, but murder if you have any aspirations of trying Ku band.
If you want to try, by all means have at it, but speaking only for me, I'd keep driving.
I have a Paraclipse with the H-to-H mount, its nice but hard to work with.
