I was listening to IMUS a few weeks ago and he made the statement,
"depending on your satellite situation you can watch Russert on
the east coast feed and catch it again on the west coast feed."

So how'd he do that from New Mexico?

I still get the east coast and west coast feeds. I don't know if I'm "grandfathered" in or not.. but when I bought my dish in 1998 I was able to get national feeds for ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS (don't remember fox). Then I lost the NBC and ABC feeds as those were local channels in my area. However, since then I've been able to keep CBS and ABC. I Have no idea why I get them but I keep them because it makes recording things a bit easier on CBS and ABC when we can factor in the "late version" of shows.

I live north of Santa Fe, NM and get both NY and LA SD feeds of the Big 4. I live in a valley with horrible reception of the local channels OTA (Albuquerque is 60 miles away, south + horrible terrrain between)
Imus has many of the same problems from his ranch that I do, although he is more east of Albuqueruqe.
I've had both feeds since 1999 when I moved here from Ohio. However, I have lost the HD feeds from NY, due to new legislation.
