Best EHD for HWS?

I just purchased and transferred shows to a Hgst Touro 500, no external power supply. No issues whatsoever. Got it from Amazon for 39 bucks.
I do have 1tb and 2 tb drives but prefer several 500gb over super big drives due more potential loss with the bigger drives.

Consider that a larger drive likely has a lower "loss" rate per GB than multiple small drives but, of course, the loss is a bigger chunk.
While access takes longer with a big drive, you don't have to change drives as often nor stumble over as many drives.
I vote for the largest that will work with the Dish receiver provided it does not substantially change the access time or failure rate.
