I have been doing some reading and trying to figure this out but to be sure I figure I would ask. Can you use a *choice quad lnb for fta and if so can you pull in two sats with it. And which ones would they be. Thanks for any help.

The Shaw quad LNB will only work with a Shaw dish (due to the nature of the spacing). The LNB's are 3.8 degrees apart so you can feasibly get 2 sats 4 degrees apart but the signals may be weaker on one sat.

I aimed mine at 97/101 a few years ago and it worked fine. You can try 2 sats 4 degrees apart and see how well it works. Thinking out loud here of the combinations that are worth it (that have something on it)

101/105
97/101
91/87
79/83

which LNB is it? The 60e or 75e? It says it on the LNB

Some of the combination's i've got with it (75E) here in Nfld in CBS
107 - 111
101 - 97
97 - 93
and for sat b 22khz on no sat A
87,89,93.1,99,105,113,123,125
never did much looking under 87W yet with the starchoice dish

101(sat B 22khz on) should be on the left side and 97 (sat A 22khz off) right side when behind dish,
if you wanted 97 & 93 then 97 would be (sat B 22khz on) the left side and 93 (sat A 22khz off) right lnb.

some skews and elevation settings i found to work or get me very close with starchoice dish
97 & 93 E 21.8 skew 119
101 & 97 E 19.5 skew 121.5
111 & 107 E 14 skew 126

Also found when you hit 101 and 97 when you think you have dish aligned go to 101 and tune in history or Bio and then fine tune the dish micro movements till the 2 channels above come in with highest quality, don't take much, but seems the best way to get them without meters and spectrum analyzers and the like, That's what i find when aligning mine anyways 97 is one of the strongest sats for linear and don't need to be as accurate with the smaller dish .

Thanks for all your help guys! With all this info I will give it a good go the weekend. Glad to see a fellow Newfoundlander interested in Fta.

I got 97w and 93w with the quad lnb. My diseq switch is picking up both sats through one port, Is that o.k.

Thanks! I also locked in amc 15@105w. Blind scaned it but only found 1 tp with quality. No channels came up. Is their anything supposed to be on that sat.

105W has 2 TP's that are up 24/7

12173 H 17780 which is a data TP so no channels
11856 V 3548 is Macy's TV training....usually a slate

The sat is mainly used for sports/news feeds
