Just got word from DISH that they will be carrying the Cooking Channel at launch on Monday. (Fine Living is going away and is being replaced by the new Cooking Channel.)

DIRECTV will also be carrying this channel as well at launch.

I'm looking forward to it. Not like I've got a lot of time to watch more.

Let's see...

The fine people at Scripps Networks are changing Fine Living Network to the Cooking Channel. The fine people at Scripps also own Food Network.

Obviously it won't be that much different.

The Cooking Channel is supposed to be just what it says it is. It is a channel with cooking shows. Food network has moved away from that type of programming in recent years. They focus more on competitions and reality shows now.

Since it's Scripps, probably whenever there is an HD version it will all be fisheye stretch-o-vision(R)

Will the new channel have Giada De Laurentiis? She REALLY cooks...scrambles my eggs...boils my water...bakes my casserole...slings my hash...bastes my turkey...oh....it's time to go to lunch.

The Cooking Channel is apparently supposed to be the Food Network for those people who think the Food Network is beneath them. It's more highbrow...

Cooking Channel is more cooking instrction, not the reality shows that Food Network shows.

They are even bringing back the Two Fat Ladies to replay (which is kind of sad since one of them is dead) :(

CW in HD?

WMUR (9) is it coming to NH not in Boston DMA?
