What is satellite loop through output actually for? I know you can connect another receiver to it but why would anyone do that? Does it just pass mpeg2 encrypted signal through it or does it actually send already decoded signal to a second receiver?

I believe it could be used to slave another reciever to the CoolSat. You'd obviously be stuck on whatever sat / polarity that the CoolSat is set to.

I think all I'd ever use it for is to slave an old analog reciever.

Main reason for a loop out is to slave an analog. Whatever polarity/satellite the Collsat is on the other would be too. If the Coolsat is off though, the other satellite could get both polarities (as long as the other receiver can control polarity)

If you have a receiver for say G10 or IA5, the loop out is handy for a 2nd receiver, because most programs are on one polarity
