I'm within 2 degrees compass orientation for all OTA channels, between 38-39 miles away for all as well. All UHF.

How good would a DB-4 work if installed in the attic? Any other recommendations? I'm in Spring (NW Houston, TX).

Thanks.

If you could fit the Db-8, it would be better, Higher gain.
You could also need an amp to compensate for signal weaking through the roof. Consider the Channel Master 4228 also.

Thanks a lot! The Channel Master looks good too.

Do you think the 4228 located in the attic with an amp is capable of picture quality equal to that of my current regular HD channels? Or does an antenna absolutely have to be on the roof?

The CM 4228 is 3 1/2 ft wide and 3 ft high. Be sure it will fit (may have to assemble it in the attic).

An attic install cuts your signal strength in half at the antenna, you can NEVER amplify out of that hole. If you MUST install in an attic go with the biggest and best.

Outside is always better, higher is better, bigger is better.

Try it inside, if it is unsatisfactory, move it to the roof.
