OMG it works.

Still has some bugs but it's a start.

So now its ALI Vs Fujitsu. Who will win time will tell. I think I am going for the trifecta all three 6000, rs-1933 and micro. In the end i think it will come down to who has their Source code to cut out the china mfr and develop in the good old United States.

You have the DBS6000 more the a week now , no review ? all we read is a bunch of B/S

As noted above, a software update came out last night taking care of some of the bugs in the software such as shifting to PAL! Also CONUS USA birds were added.

Lol. Hard to do a review with a B/S firmware. I was planning on doing one today.

First Impression:
My first impression of the dbs6000hd is the unit is very small and has the FCC logo.

Remote Control:
The remote control is just a normal small generic.

Setup:
My unit came in PAL for some reason. After hooking up the Composite video I was able to switch back to NTSC.

Satellite Setup:
Started by adding the American sat list file from the dms website. It does not have AMC 21 (125) So I added it and selected the parameters for the satellite.

Blind Scan:
I want my pbs so I started the blind scan and noticed it is not super fast but it sure is not slow either. I am very happy with the blind scan on this STB.

1st video channel:
Well to be honest everything was great until I went to watch the pbs hd channel and then all hell broke out. I had to reboot the STB and could only watch SD.

Come to find out the box was going into pal mode when switched to an HD channel.

Firmware:
The great news is dms came out with a new firmware to fix that issue and other issues. :) I installed it right away.

My review will continue...

My only suggestion on your review is to use a photo resizer on your pictures as it takes a while to download them now and someone with dialup is going to have a real problem, I always resize my pictures to 800x600 size.

With the MicroHD comming out and with a lower price, OpenBox S10 going for $75 with free shipping on ebay.
The DBS6000 is over priced.

From what I can see it's probable is going to be the best option out there since the MicroHD doesn't come with the needed outputs for all people and S10 has a questionable history.

What about the closed caption through hdmi? works fine?

Bump this question as I am also curious! Also, CC pass through on component /composite? TBN on 97 Ku or on G14 C-band is a known 24/7 channel with CC.

Also, does it only do QPSK and 8PSK? Does it do H8PSK or 16APSK? These are questions that customers will ask when shopping. Thanks!
