Same here. We very rarely rent dvd's. Not sure I want to pony up $120/year.

I am going to keep my free platinum until the promo runs out and keep Netflix streaming. When my free platinum runs out I will hope my 612, Roku or Xbox can stream BB. If not, I will have to stay with Netflix streaming and no DVD mail service.

I am anxious to see how much of the BB content will actually be new. I got the update last night and now show the Blockbuster Movie Pass in the DVR menu. After selecting the BB menu it appears it has taken me to what used to be the Dish online content. I hope this is not just a rebranding of Dish online and will actually offer decent movie content. I know it is not Oct. 1 yet and I hope my speculation is wrong.

I got the L688 software and I already sub to the Platinum pack. But I don't see anywhere in the menus Blockbuster pass. Where is it supposed to be and what software is it supposed to be?

I know I've already quoted and responded to this once, but I just saw that they renamed one of the entries in the DVR menu too. In the case of the 722k, there's no s/w update invovled. Anyway, yeah, it reads "Blockbuster Movie Pass" on the main menu. Select it and ..... ooops, someone forgot to change the logo on the next screen. It still says "Dish..." :)

So I see the new Blockbuster Movie Pass option on the menu. Oh brother! Click on it and there is the old, sad UI. Zillions of selections, presented five at a time, ever so slowly. Is this somebody's idea of a joke or are more changes coming, dare I say, soon?

October 1 is Saturday, folks. Not yesterday, not today. Saturday.

I ask again. Where is the Blockbuster option on the menu and what software do you need to get it?
As I mentioned just a few posts up, on the 722k, I'm seeing the new menu entry and THERE WAS NO SOFTWARE UPDATE INVOLVED. I'm running the same version as I have been for many weeks now. Don't know the number off the top of my head though. Checked dishuser.org and it says L688 is current and that sounds awfully familiar.

They could have waited to update the menu entry too, but didn't.... My money says it ain't gonna change. I hope I'm wrong though !! :) As EatMyVolts says, the interface is horrible to use, slow, etc, etc.

Nothing wrong with getting their ducks in a row. But again, the SERVICE starts tomorrow, good or bad.

L688 for the 722k and L677 for the 722 both started spooling on 9/13. Both had references to the Blockbuster branding, and Dish On Demand updates/fixes. L677 also had 'Adaptive Streaming' updates...

New software is rolling out which will change the Dish Platinum to say blockbuster movie pass.

I don't think there will be any other ui changes for the October 1st rollout.
