DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

I would guess that it is the Roku "2" XD, and not the original, as those are no longer being made. And the new one does not have Ethernet ports.

I obviously realize this is about getting Amazon/AMC programs, but I'm going to guess it's the Roku 2, because the original can not get the new Dish programming.

I wonder if you answer you have a fast ethernet connection but not wifi if they would send the XS model it has an ethernet connection also.

Everyone reported the "Roku XD" (without the "2"), so I just assumed that Dish got hold of the previous model's overstock inventory somehow. :) Wired or wireless, doesn't matter to me. :)

Me too. But I don't have the package amc was on... so can't really call and complain. I was going to upgrade in time for Breaking Bad but would make it sound like I was making it up. :) It's ok though.

I am also in that problem, but I dont know if call or what.
The package I normally have had the 4 lost channels, but right now I changed packages for the summer, cause there was nothing interesting for me if I keep the other package and save some money, but I was going to change to the same package later on July, but right now the package I have didnt have any of those channels  ... thats why I didnt get the email I think.

But I want a Roku!!!

same here

Won't have to worry because DirecTV usually settles before it is pulled and the few times they don't the channels are usually only gone for a couple of days
It is a choice you make. Pay an average of $19 more per month to DIRECTV for a little more security and considerably less variety in HD programming or pay less and maybe have to seek other sources for some of the individual shows.

I called last night at about 10PM and expressed my dissatisfaction with the loss of AMC and was told about the Roku Promotion. I then told them that I had been considering getting a whole home DVR servcie and was already looking at possibly making the switch to DirecTV (which is a true statement, I almost signed up for the HMC about a week ago). She immediately transferred me to a loyalty specialists who gave me 1 Hopper and 1 Joey for free with free install for this Wednesday and a $15 credit for 12 months. I was extremely satisfied with this offer, it was more than I was expecting. I am excited to be getting this new setup and look forward to many more good years with Dish.

See guys why sometimes it PAYS to read SatelliteGuys. :)

Congrats to everyone who was taken care of by DISH! :D
I can't express enough my gratitude to Dish for offering this promotion, but more importantly, to SatelliteGuys for making it all possible to know about it. I'll be renewing my paid SatelliteGuys Pub Membership when the time comes. ;)

Yes, nice of Dish to offer the promos and the satelliteguy who first started the discussion, cant remember his whole member name, but I know it was Chris

Called this morning. Got to a CSR in 5 minutes, who didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Suggested he transfer me to account loyalty (thanks, satguys!), which he cheerfully did. The rep there answered in 2 minutes and had me set up in no time. No dickering at all; he gave me a roku, a $10/12, and a 1-time $30 credit, all without me asking for anything (all I did was say I watched two shows on AMC and got their email).

Not a bad "we're sorry 'bout that."

I second that

Sent from my phone using SatelliteGuys sweet app

WOW, just called the 888 number, and it took all of 3 minutes. said we were thinking about leaving, and the rep immediately said "i am overnighting a roku to xxxxxxx and you will receive a $5 credit for 12months".

kind of reminds me of that Seinfeld episode. George tries and break up with his girlfriend and she says "NO". Dish is doing that to us, lol.

We all dont seem worthy!

I believe a member who was on welcome pack was able to obtain a roku

Well I have used the chat method and I called directly to speak with the Loyalty department and both times I was NOT offered the Roku despite being a customer for 12 years and having the 250 package. Apparently because I have credits on my account already due to Dish network equipment failure 2 days after receiving it, I thereore do not warrant any offers besides 3 months free of Blockbuster at home which I kindly declined. I feel like I am being punished for receiving a credit for their equipment breaking!! It seems so unfair that some customers get certain things and others dont!....we all lost the same channels...shouldnt customers who had AMC all get the same compensation. Makes me so pissed!

This is interesting. I've been out of my contract for several months and was looking at discounts for Hopper and Joey. I'm on chat right now, number 29 in the q, and i'll ask about this instead of the roku.
